The Realist Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Issue is with the leadership here. Dhoni and Buddha coach should be sacked asap. That should have been done after the 0-8. There are so many things wrong with this team that only a complete re-boot will help.
Spiderguy252 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 They have absolutely ruined it !!! With those huge ugly advertisement cloth hanging everywhere even on flood-light tower lol. Are they Paan Paraag banners? I wonder where all money for renovation of Edens went? Maybe BCCI didn't allocated much' date=' those stand roof look 80s era![/quote'] Remember they were supposed to host an India - England match for the WC and ended up losing it because the renovation wasn't complete or something like that? West Bengal Cricket Association is a rubbish entity I think.
Brainfade Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 The problem is our lopsided batting-heavy team... and even then, we are ONLY batting heavy when other teams don't know how to bowl on subcontinent pitches... We used to be a BATTING-heavy team. Now, we are a HEAVY batting team.
Number Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 His theory about I will keep playing as long as I am enjoying my game, for me, goes against the interests of the team. He is hurting the team, more than helping, now. Also, his quest for records does hurt the team's chances sometimes. One great thing about Tendulkar is he does approach his own cricket professionally, issue being whether it is in tune with team's interests or not. Anyways, this is not about one player, the overall attitude of our players over decades. Even "professional" Dravid was useless for long period. I am not defending Sachin but selectors are at fault. In India players don't know when to retire.
nitinbwj Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 rahane ,dinda heck..bring jiwanjot ..we suck big time..out of form dravid gone, kumble gone, bhajji almost gone, yuvi not a test match player, kohli hasnt impressed in tests, fatwin is crap.so is Dhobi,Tendu,Gambo and blink n miss innings sehwag.I bet bangladesh would beat us in current form in tests.
Trundler27 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 These should be the easy changes for a start --> Dhoni out as captain Gambhir out as player never to be seen around the test side again Sachin 'retires' after a dream tenacious knock of 76 to end his career when everyone thought he would 'fail' Yuvraj is asked to play for punjab and add depth to their already dominant side this year Umesh gets fit and slots right back in for ishu Rahane scores well for mumbai against punjab and plays the fourth test in place of Sachin Jiwanjot stuns with another 100 and makes his emergency debut as an opener Tiwary / Rohit get a chance using a coin-toss Zak can be the temp captain as the boat settles down a bit
The Outsider Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Here's how I rank them: Power House: South Africa, Australia, England and India. Totally!
veer Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Does it matter if we are better than Lanka or not?? Talk about the opponent at the hand...
Old guy Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Even "professional" Dravid was useless for long period. I am not defending Sachin but selectors are at fault. In India players don't know when to retire. is sachin really the biggest problem here? i agree with mtc his failures have actually hidden others every one is after him yes he should retire but even right now he is putting in more effort then guys like dhoni and showing more fight right now i want guys like gambhir , yuvraj, dhoni out and kick out bhajji for good and send ishant back to learn to pick up wickets i dont see may people criticizing others like they go after sachin.. i dont know why ..:wall:
Trichromatic Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Here's how I rank them: Power House: South Africa, Australia, England and India. Average: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and New Zealand. Minnows: Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. We're the weakest amongst the powerhouse teams, but we can easily smash the average/minnow teams. Pakistan is overrated, they recently lost a series against a weak Sri Lankan side. You're good at trolling. :nice:
Old guy Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 its easy south africa england australia pakistan india srilanka /new zealand/west indies :P honestly i will back sri lanka to beat us but they lost against nz at home and only draw the series and i think they are fielding there best side...so i will rate them notch lower while we always have potential to be decent again if some changes are made ..
Sandeep99 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Sri Lanka is much better than us..They atleast try and have 'accountability' in their set up
saket123 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 is sachin really the biggest problem here? ..... i dont see may people criticizing others like they go after sachin.. i dont know why ..:wall: Nope.. Sachin is not the problem. He is worth having in the team even he is a bit out of form for a while because of the value he brings into the dressing room. I hope Sachin seriously introspects his situation and give a press release about what his future plans are and stick to it. Sachin is an easy target because of his stature.. Great men have great lovers and great haters.
vvvslaxman Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Best time to fix problem is when we are doing well.. Should have started addressing all the short comings one by one when we were no.1. Unfortunately even after we hit the rock bottom no change.
Trichromatic Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Issue is with the leadership here. Dhoni and Buddha coach should be sacked asap. Whole team is in very bad form.
Sandeep99 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Look at this idiot and the new comer Compton... Gambhir doesn't even have the confidence to play a proper cover drive! And the new comer has adapted well and grafts for hours against uncomfortable spin! So much difference!
namasteji1 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 The players in the current team are good but they simply have lost the confidence after many defeats, so they need to be rested and playing in domestic matches to get confidence back. The current lot is pretty good atleast in terms of batsmen.
Old guy Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Best time to fix problem is when we are doing well.. Should have started addressing all the short comings one by one when we were no.1. Unfortunately even after we hit the rock bottom no change. true thts how top teams stay on top u never stop improving south africa had good attack with steyn and morkel and if it was india they would have sticked with tsosobe guy and never tried philander,,thts how our attitude was if team is doing well why bother? worst part is even after this they are not accepting there is a problem..if nothing changes we are doomed i guess this is where ipl comes in :P
Number Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 is sachin really the biggest problem here Yuvraj is the biggest problem for me. He has no credentials what so ever to be in the Test team. Dhoni has been a poor captain, wrong decisions at every level. Sachin may not be the biggest, is definitely a problem, questions will be raised when 39 year old doesn't score for long.
