maniac Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Don't base it on the wickets taken because I personally don't rate Aquib Javed's 7 wicket haul or even Murali's haul against us. eventhough it might be a tremendous acheievement.Just like a player a might have scored 150+ in a certain innings but a 80 or a 90 scored by player b might be better than.So base your criteria on that. I hope some of you read the OP and don't steer the thread in all sorts of directions. Here is my list: Shane Warne-4/29 vs SA 99 wc SF Allan Doanld 4/31-Titan Cup....This is just stuck with me because I remember Aus were in a pretty decent position before Donald just blew them away,he just looked unplayable in that spell Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis destroying Newzealand at Sharjah....I think Pak got bowled out around 150 and NZL was just cruising through at one stage and wonder what magic they did to the ball :--D but they were absoultely unplayable and lethal and NZL ended up losing by like 40 runs Ashish Nehra's 6 wicket haul in 2003 is another terrific performance...he had pace, swing and he did put everything in it clearly...didn't he throw up in the end in the same game??? There might be many more but these are a few that comes to mind

ganeshran Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Razzak's fifer against Lanka at UAE. Lankans needed about 30 runs with 8 wickets in hand but razzak sparked a collapse and the match ended up being tied
maniac Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Also forgot to add Malinga's hatrick against South Africa in 2007
Khalpat Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Glenn Mcgrth Vs W. Indies in 1999 WC 5/14. Every ball was just amazing and the wicket of Brian Lara, he bowled him with absolutely stunning delivery. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65220.html Ashish Nehra Vs. England in 2003 WC 6/23. I have not seen batsmen get beaten so many times in any ODI http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65262.html Coutney Walsh 5/1, yes 5 wickets for 1 run against Srilanka. Now how can anything be better than that. The best one was an abandoned match I dont know anybody here knows about this match or not. An ODI against Pak was abandoned because Karachi crowd became uncontrollable in 1989 . And the reason why it happened was the spell of MAnoj Prabhakar, he took 4 wickets in 2 overs and Pakistan scores was something 11 for 5 in 5 overs when the mob attacked and match was abandoned.
expoking Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Andy Bichel taking 7-20 in a World Cup game against England. Won the game with the bat as if that wasn't enough!
Clarke Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Ambrose vs Lanka in Sharjah, you had to see it to believe it. The pitch map for the entire spell was basically a soccer ball placed on the precise length. CEL Ambrose 10 5 5 1 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65887.html
zaqw222222 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Waqar Younis 5/25 against SA, Pakistan made 208 and SA while chasing was 2/165 when Waqar bowled a great spell and Pakistan won this match by 10 runs. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65951.html Video : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er61zHxnZXA]Waqar Younis 5/25 vs South Africa 1992/93 - YouTube[/ame] Sunil Joshi : 10-6-6-5 against South Africa http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66242.html Anil Kumble : 6/12 against West Indies http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65973.html Anil Kumble : 5/33 against New Zealand at Wellington http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64464.html Venkatesh Prasad : 5/27 against Pakistan in WC 99 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65226.html Saurav Ganguly : 5/16 against Pakistan in Toronto 97 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66038.html

Thats the first game that came to my mind too...people rarely talk about it now though :sniffle: Was awesome to see Walsh ripping those wickets 5-1, still fresh in my mind.
