msb1991 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 ^ Nehra has bowled well for India at death in internationals' date=' who cares about IPL. Nehra is also older now and has not had much cricket since wc.[/quote'] I'm not making a point about Nehra, I'm noting that his 'trundler bashing' is misplaced, here.
maniac Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 It's not the 130+ or 140+ they bowl that matters....are they good enough to set up the batsmen when playing an international game??? For eg;Stuart Braoad and Ishanth should be in the same category if we compare their speeds or even Philander and Vinay Kumar......Unless you have 150+ nothing to be too happy about 135-145K bowlers unless they are special. Obviously I haven't seen a 150+ Indian bowler in this tournament,so the next thing would be a bowler who has outthought the batsman bowling nearly 140 which I haven't seen either.
Dravid_TheWall Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I'm not making a point about Nehra' date=' I'm noting that his 'trundler bashing' is misplaced, here.[/quote'] You are too pro trundler, we had this debate before. You have to understand a trundler is not someone who is medium fast, but someone with no skills. You need to stop thinking everyone is pro speed.
ShebbySB Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Awana, Dinda and Veer Pratap have been very impressive so far. Awana is now a certainity for India A, Dinda will get a run in the side and Veer needs to continue his development. In another season or two he too would be ready for international cricket. Waiting to see Rahul Shukla and Shami getting a chance for their respective teams. Also, hopefully looking at how bad RP Singh has been, Mumbai give a chance to Nechim again. It's a shock to see him on bench given how important he was for MI in winning the CLt20. All these guys are not express (150+), but can all hit 140+ and be around the 137-138 kmph range, good enough for international cricket. Rahul Shukla can touch 150kph & Abu Nachim,Shami Ahmed can bowl around 145kph.That's quite fast.Though they'll not get faster warming the benches. They need to get a chance to play.
ShebbySB Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 We should not talk about Gony anymore. He's 28 already & hasn't improved a bit in last 5 years so he has no chance of playing for India in any format of the game.

Rahul Shukla looked quick in DY Patil T20 videos, quicker than any other bowlers likes of Pathan and others, but we cannot claim or not sure about what he hits 140 or 150k until we see him live under speed guns. I hope they play him at least a match or two. After all, he was their best pacer in DY Patil tourny. The kind of action he has 150 looks far, 140 yes.

I like his runup. One of the best runup in Indian fast bowlers. No inhibitions, free flowing, and always looking ahead and gathering momentum unlike Aaron.
Sidhoni Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 But he can bounce back- gony can improve. :headshake:
ShebbySB Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Guess what Aaron is back in the DD squad & may get a game pretty soon. Now we've serious competition for Umesh.
MCcricket Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I only watch IPL to watch players with potential, especially bowlers , waiting to see Suyal, Nechim, Shukla bowl, wish A Ahmed, Parmerwaram, VRV were in IPL too.

Number Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Rahul Shukla looks nippy. Need a few more game for fair assessment of his speed. Though I don't think before 1-2 seasons more in domestic , he'll be ready.
Old guy Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Harbhajan singh 115 kph :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
vishalvirsingh Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 What ws rahul"s fastest- the over I saw he was 128 to 133 it seems Umesh bowled 144K now
