ravishingravi Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 This is the most incompetent govt. of my lifetime certainly. I would vote for Modi any day over these incompetent people. Having said that, this is also a timely slap of reality to the yuppie crowd who kept shouting over roof tops about India shining story. Truth is there was / is potential with right kind of leadership and reforms. As of today, it looks terribly gloom and doom.
Clarke Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 since when has this Govt cared for the long term? They will have their Spectrum Bonanza which will reduce the deficit in the short term and that will be enough to give them some advantage over the opposition with a few months left for elections. I see what you mean, its a difference of what should be done & what will be done. I wouldn't be surprised if the sale of assets (spectrum or others) is also spent to buy more votes. Farm loan waiver from 2009, anyone ?
Sachin=GOD Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I see what you mean' date=' its a difference of what should be done & what will be done.[b'] I wouldn't be surprised if the sale of assets (spectrum or others) is also spent to buy more votes. Farm loan waiver from 2009, anyone ? actually they have been forced to sell spectrum after the Supreme Court cancelled 122 licences. Now the new Licences have been priced at exorbitant prices which will bring up the cost for all operators and result in increased tariffs.

coffee_rules Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The diesel is subsudized for rich folk to run their SUVs. The diesel subsidy should be only for farmers who use it for water pumps, and not for cars.

Bull****, Here in Bangalore we pay 82 rupees/ltr which is insanely high , compared to other states. If these ****ers can reduce the 5% entry tax apart from Vat , we would breath easy a little.

Tiger80 Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 Hike in petrol price fuels humour on internet From wedding jokes to IPL banter, the petrol hike has now given rise to a new brand of online humour. The steep petrol hike of `7.50 a litre across the country has left most fuming and quite a few others resorting to circulating petrol jokes on cyberspace. The government's supposed gamble with the common man's patience was met with ridicule as many came up with some of the most sarcastic comments on how `7.50 will now turn into a metaphor for abuse! The most common observation was "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" actually knew about the hike in petrol prices. Another joke topping the list, which was even posted by Amitabh Bachchan went like: "Petrol Pump Attendant: Saab, Kitne ka daaloon? Customer : 2-4 Rupye ka car ke upar spray kar de bhai. Aag lagani hai. #petrol #pricehike." While people spoke about how the RIP acronym will now come to mean "Rust In Peace", some advocated selling off cars to buy bicycles and elephants instead. "A horse pool to go to office" with photos of a horse pulling a car came up as a suggestion on the new ways of commuting to office! A netizen who goes by the name Delhi Ka Don, wrote: "Remember the little Sardar in the maruti suzuki ads who once said, "papa petrol khatam hi nahi hunda" has just bought toy cycle. (sic)" Marriage and relationship jokes with references to petrol were also pretty common. Long drives are now supposed to be the most expensive gifts to the beloved and banks are thinking of offering petrol loans too! A New York Born Confused Delhiite wrote: "Boy: Mujhse Shaadi Karoge baby? Girl: Depends..Mujhe kya Milega? Boy: A lifetime Supply of #Petrol ! Girl: I dooooooo! (sic)" Another - Muddasir Hashmi - tweeted saying: "So instead of buying gold, parents will now gift their daughters, barrels of petrol. 'May U live happily ever after my beloved'#7.50 (sic)". Even IPL was not left out in the banter! One tweet came accompanied by a cartoon that said players who win a car in the IPL will now be left stumped unless they were also offered the fuel as part of the prize money! Even Siddharth Mallya's tweet: "Oh and btw, I know ppl can be cynical, so just so u know, the settlement wasn't financial in any way (sic)" was given a petrol spin by Faking News. On Thursday morning, a tweet sent out with reference to Zohal Hamid's settlement with Mallya Jr read thus: "Sid Mallya says out of court settlement with the molestation victim wasn't financial in any way. Maybe they paid in #petrol." priyanka.dasgupta@timesgroup.com Celebs unplugged - Amitabh Bachchan ?@SrBachchanT 753 -Petrol up Rs 7.5 : Pump attendent - 'Kitne ka daloon ?' ! Mumbaikar - '2-4 rupye ka car ke upar spray kar de bhai, jalana hai !!' - Boman Irani ?@bomanirani Another petrol price hike!!!! Thankfully the ticket prices of Ferrari Ki Sawaari will still cost the same! - Raj Kundra @TheRajKundra #petrolhike yikes! Petrol chodo drink Johnnie Walker and keep walking! - kunal Kapoor @kapoorkkunal Petrol is up to 78 rs per litre!!! Forget cars, banks need to come up with EMI schemes for petrol as well now!!! - Gul Panag @GulPanag Alternatively head back to stonage and get The Flintstones like car. Legs fitness + No fuel required. :P - Jaaved Jaaferi ?@jaavedjaaferi Don't understand these Bmw's and Mercs standing in serpentine lines at petrol pumps to save, what, ` 600 ??? http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/people/Hike-in-petrol-price-fuels-humour-on-internet/articleshow/13448157.cms
Sachin=GOD Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 It seems that there may be a partial rollback in a few days......but the Chief Economic Adviser Kaushik Basu is on record saying that there should not be a rollback of prices as it would adversely effect the deficit.
kabira Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I am not too angered with the rise in fuel price. It was inevitable. they waited for elections to over, they could have hiked it at 2 Rs each 4 times.. Our ministers are clowns. Pranab is biggest of them. I think when Jewellers all aorund Gujarat and saurasthra went on strike. they closed down their shops, he was saying, why do Indians have to spend money on Gold. LOL...Our PM says people should start earning more as prices will go up. The problem with this Government is not only common man even corporates are frustrated. They are not willing to take any action, any hard decisions...F*...king Hijda Fauj
