Irfan needs to bowl a bit quicker to be a good bowler in all conditions, his swing , action, rhythm seems good, he seems to actually get more seam , swing, zip of the track with this action ,but his pace is down by 5 k's. To be a test class bowler Irfan needs to bowl between 133 to 143 k's, also needs to seam the occasional ball away from the right hander of the track that will be hard for batters to deal with as he bring the ball in pretty well. A good coach, support from his capt and selectors, and work a bit on his bowling he can be a world class all rounder, as a batter he plays as good as any one in our team against pace on fast tracks, and pulls, hooks pretty well. This guys in only 27 and can serve India for a long time, a fighter, good team man, gives 100 %, I believe under supportive capt and selectors we could have a long term player who can play in all three formats.
Bhai tere bowling speed ranges mast hote hain. And one thing I have noticed is har bowler ke liye that range is different. Umesh 137-147K, Aaron 140-145 K, PK 128-135 K and so on and so forth..:winky:

everyone has been saying this for the last 10 years and it has never happened, and it isn't going to start now.

No, he isnt going to get any quicker, none of our bowlers are anyway save Umesh. But the point is not necessarily true, he does not need to up his pace…just look at PK. Irfan is not as skilled a swing bowler so as long as he can maintain a line and length and not bowl short dollies over long spells...he can be a handy 5th bowler in test cricket hopefully chipping in with a wicket or two per innings. That might be a ways off, for now let him focus on building on his ODI success. One thing about Irfan, as has been pointed out, is that he is committed. Not crazy like Sree or become fat like RPS and lazy like Munaf… he had his problems and rectified them which is why he is back, more than can be said for a lot of our medium pacers... Btw RVP- minnow basher…? Sri Lanka at home are minnows??

Since it's on slow SL pitches, I think they need to go for Munaf rather than Dinda. Also, I'm not sure if they should be playing three pacers in every game. Then again, they have Tiwary, Sehwag, Kohli and maybe Yuvraj to slow things down. If Yuvraj doesn't make it, who would you put in his place?

Munaf?I dont want a player who laughs after getting hit or sledges after bowling 5 free hits 7 bats r too much for 20 overs.I'd hv PK instead of Yuvraj/Tiwary n Abdulla ahead of Zaheer

the last couple of times Irfan was trying to make a comeback, he broke down with injuries (back, etc). That has been part of his problem really. This time he's held together and made a great comeback. He's here to stay for a while now with this type of performance.

In T20s based on the short sample(Mostly IPL) Dinda looks much better than Vinay. And for ODIs frankly both are not good enough. It doesnt matter if one marginally better than other but both are not enough ultimately certainly not for Aus conditions where next world cup will be played.I think we should be looking for bowlers with much better potential imo.
