gangu is right. our pace bowlers lack the minerals to bowl fast season after season. most have a good break through year, then start getting the fame and money and hype, and it goes to their heads and they think they have made it and don't have to work hard any more.

Yadav - no brains Ishant - same as Yadav and injured most of the time to boot. Has been playing intl cricket for 5 years with no improvement whatsoever. Aaron - Can't figure out what the hype is all about. The guy is usually in mid 130s and is injured more than Ishant and barely managing to play IPL.

Aaron needs to bowl better, but slow is definitly one thing he is not. Sohaib used to bowl a lot of 130-135 balls not slow balls, geneuin low effort balls. Aarons effort balls are in the high 140s to 150s. He is definitely fast.

even with ishant time is not really running out he is younger then yadav! :yikes: but some one needs to explain one thing to him there is nothing like luck..he is just not bowling enough wicket taking balls plays and misses happen in every game but diff between good bowlers and unlucky ones is they produce lot more chances compared to ishant who bowls 1 good ball in 3-4 overs and rest are crap

lol, he has played almost same number of matches Andy Roberts, Prasanna, Akhtar, Saqlain, Stuart McGill played in their entire career, yet he bowls like a rookie who doesn't know anything about taking wickets. If time hasn't already ran out for him, then I don't know when it will.

If time hasn't already ran out for him, then I don't know when it will.[/quote'] time hasnt as he is young and even after 2-3 years of getting dropped can come back in peak years of fast bowler :two_thumbs_up: like i said his only problem is his thought process he jsut needs to bowl lots and lots of overs maybe when he is fit selectors should play him in a side after tht i honestly beilive a stint at county or even ranji full season might help him learn to pick wickets

I think we are confusing strength with fitness a bit here,neither Zak or munaf have maintained their fitness our the course of their career.They started losing speed after coming back from injury and could never regain what they had.

Aaron clocked 150K and was consistently over 140K and that too when he himself admitted that he was bowling with niggle.

If tomorrow Umesh or Aaron bowl in 140s & 150s and take wkts consistently I would be the first to acknowledge the same and press for their selection in every format.

Never said you were - just that I haven't quite given up on them (including Ishant) as yet. :--D
