Ultimate_Game Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Have to say I didn't think England had it in them to put up a semblance of fight in India but have been pleasantly surprised to see them come back in the 2nd Test after the thrashing in 1st Test. I expected only KP to be the danger -man but Cook & England spinners, especially Monty, have been a revelation. Just as England had to look beyond their "favorites" and play Panesar in the 2nd Test, India will need to kick out non-performers as well who provide no value to the team (e.g., Harbhajan, Tendulkar, possibly Yuvraj) etc. to come back else they face a loss at home to England and Australia.
Adi_91 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 If they win tomorrow, it could be the end of MSD and his heroics and even Sachin!
panther Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 5 man team kp, cook, prior, swann and monty. India is a 2 man team pujara and ojha, and ashwin with the bat.
jairamesh Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I believed Swann was always going to be a threat. But Monty has made the difference. Getting good turn, good bounce, and bowling quick. We would have got 400 plus score in the 1st innings had England stuck with same team from the first Test. I think if England had had Finn, Monty and Swann all together we would struggled even more.
Number Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Well a half decent side won't let them breathe in SC. They are such bad against spin bar Cook and a freak innings from KP. India has more than half the side filled with passengers.
jairamesh Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 5 man team kp, cook, prior, swann and monty. India is a 2 man team pujara and ojha, and ashwin with the bat. I would also add Compton in there. He hasn't got the runs but always stayed in to play around 100 balls in each innings. Him and Cook have managed to play past first 20 overs.
Trichromatic Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Always thought England will do well in India. They are a good team and Indian players are not in form. No matter what the conditions are, out of form players are going to struggle.
The Realist Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Eng have done more in 1 day than Ind did on the whole Eng tour last year. So much for all the talk of revenge, just been made to look foolish as capitulated at home and will lose in 4 days.
Trichromatic Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Mumbai set to become our worst home ground in 25 years.
Iconoclast Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Well played ?!?!? Aside from Cook, Monty and Swann the rest of them blow hard in SC conditions ... these clowns got bowled out for 70 odd on a flat deck last year. Dhoni, Fletcher and the BCCI screwed this up ... bad team selection, no DRS, poor captaincy etc etc.
Ultimate_Game Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Eng have done more in 1 day than Ind did on the whole Eng tour last year. So much for all the talk of revenge, just been made to look foolish as capitulated at home and will lose in 4 days. True that! We simply folded on that 0-8 fiasco. Other than Dravid in Eng tour and Kohli in Aus, England has shown more fight in one day than most of the Indian team put up in 8 tests :((
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 In the 1st Test, 2nd innings, they had Cook-Prior and this Test, Cook-KP and the other failed. If we had the DRS we would have won the 1st Test by an innings and we would be in a safe zone in this one. Our fault and we gotta deal with as BCCI isn't gonna give a chit!!
cowboysfan Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hats off to them, they have shown more grit then I expected.
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 awesome team other then barbie & Samit & Cook & KP & Prior bagerra :((

asterix Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 They're not awesome.. On South Asian conditions better teams like Pakistan clean sweeps them...
Old guy Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 They're not awesome.. On South Asian conditions better teams like Pakistan clean sweeps them... atleast they improved and learnt from it and always put up fight only barbie does not gives his all when things go wrong
nevada Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hats off to Cook for being the rock for his team. KP was due for a big one and he obliged. Monty has shown that he is the real turbanator. After their 2nd innings display in the first test I expected them to turn the tables in the 2nd. I am disappointed but not shocked or surprised by India's batting collapse.
Eternal Atma Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I think it's a case of us playing badly than England playing well. We gifted Panesar most the wickets in the first innings and some stupid shots in the 2nd innings. KP played a good innings, that is all. We bowled poorly. We have ourselves to blame but we can pick ourselves up and win the remaining tests.
