See this is csk trolling I was talking about ;) Anti in this case.
bringing csk is the last resort for trolls to bash dhoni/ashwin/vijay/jadeja. :giggle: same people who bashed jaddu are asking to bring him back. tbh, ojha is a better option if u consider bowling, but in Durban, we have to 'outbat' them.

You play this IPL card as how Congress plays the secularism card whenever there isn't any valid point to counter :giggle:
what point you want other than timid, insipid bowling. I would even say he never looked, he could pick up a wicket at Wanderers. He was that hopeless. He is not a bad bowler. He will always play at home but needs to develop more in terms of overseas bowling.

CSK will always be the factor, whether you like it or not... I'm just trying to find a way, knowing very well the favoritism shown towards CSK players, to have a team which increases India's chances... That's why I'm even ready to consider Jaddu as I very well know that a replacement of CSK player has to be with another CSK player, in Dhobi/Srini raj... Those who are hoping for that Sambar guzzling Fatwin will bat well and "contain bowling without bothering to take wickets" sorry it won't work this time because he's not getting proper Sambar which he gets in India... So when in India, play him as much as you like...

Still I dont think India should go in with four seamers, it would have been ok if any of these batsmen were like Viru and Sachin who were quite ok for part timers. Jadeja should be given a chance as SA line up is full of right handed batsmen.

Bhajji was most successful bowler in SA on last tour so it was not an exception. just because kumble was ineffective , we have to continue that trend of playing spinners who are useless and when did kumble had 458 target on fifth day, kumble never had that chance, only chance Kumble had was Sydney 2004, he bowled his heart out then picking up 12 wickets. It is not just Ashwin was in effective, he was out bowled by part timer who was under pump to stop the run flow .All Ashwin was needed was pose some kind of threat and pick up a wicket on wearing fifth day pitch and he failed miserably.
Ashwin was not effective? Were you watching the same match I was watching? South African batsmen were finding it very hard to score off him, and they were not trying to hit him like Indian batsmen hit Tahir and Duminy. The Saffers instead went after our pacers, knowing very well that this was their best chance of scoring without risks. If Ashwin bowled badly, how are you going to explain his bowling economy of 2.3 after 36 overs on a wicket not friendly to spinners? Ashwin did not get wickets because the batsmen were not attacking him. When Faf and ABD were batting, they together got 41 runs off 20 Ashwin overs - and tried to score mainly off Zaheer and Shammi - it was obvious that they thought going after Ashwin was more risky. And this means Ashwin was bowling well and this was reflected in the way Ashwin choked the batsmen of all runs. A spin bowler bowling in unfriendly conditions cannot take wickets if the batsmen are defending him - but SA batsmen attacked only our pacemen and even then they could not get the wickets in time.

Our pacers were trying a lot too to get wickets so erred in consistency. For Ashwin, field was pretty defensive. It is not like they could not score of him, they could but they did not take risk. It was pacers who got breakthroughs and if we had not got them and lose, Ahswin's 2.3 rpo would have been useless because of his lack of wickets.

Do tell me which has more chances them struggling against pacers on a seaming track or against spinner. Anyway' date=' if our pacers do not click then forgot win. You do hope that pacers will be effective, otherwise, there is no way we can compete against them in SA, whichever spinner you play.[/quote'] Pacers have more chances of picking up wickets. But if we are playing four bowlers, we don't need four pacers. If we are playing five bowlers we don't need five pacers. In India also, we do not go with all spinners even if it is a spin track from day one. Spinners will be there to support the pacers, and also check scoring rate and take the odd wicket or two, and also make use of a fourth or fifth day wicket if possible. And occasionally, wickets will be conducive to bowling - like when Ajmal and Herath picked up a quite a number of wickets in one match each at Durban. But both Ajmal (1/142 and 0/76 in other two matches) and Herath(1/128 in the other match) were almost wicketless at other SA grounds and they weren't dropped from their sides for that.

That is my whole point. On the other hand, Indian batsmen would have dusted SA to the ground had Tahir or Duminy bowled so many overs, shows the difference in the class of these bowlers.

So you hate him since he is a CSKian and not because of his under performance ?

Just having a second thought due to his (little) proven batting ability and lack of Genuine spin part-timers. But blindly quoting players' IPL invlolvement shows boneheadedness.

Why don't you ready my post just above to yours? That clearly states that I am not in support of Ashwin. Neither I am blind supporter of any player. But thanks for clariying that your love and hatred for players are purely base don their IPL franchises :two_thumbs_up:

Plz stay away fromI FIx league talks here. Ashwin is preferred mainly because he can bat like a top order batsman. With zero bowling skills from top order India either has to pick jadeja or Ashwin. 4 seamers is too risky unless it is a green top. Even then if it is hot weather spinners will come into play.

Why was Ashwin ineffective at Joberg, if effectiveness means picking wickets? Does it even need an analysis from "experts"? Kumble, in 1992 was the last spinner to make an impactful contribution on this ground. And Kumble was up against a SA side that was making a debut after their long ban and they were not strong players of spin at that time. Since then no spinner has succeeded in a big way here (I may be unaware of an odd occurrence though) - even containing runs is generally a tall order for a spinner here. Ajmal leaked runs at 4rpo the last time he played here.

Man, that's what I am trying to say but someone is trying to brand me as Franchise fanatic. I will happily replace him if we are able to point out a genuine spinner who would take 2 wickets on J'burg kind of pitches. I won't even worry even if that guy bats like Munaf.
