They are 1st, they will face 4th from another group so they will cruise into semis at least. Btw if you prepare sporting wickets it means you don't always win. But Punjab have won alot more than lost. Also Mandeep did well in both innings this game on a low scoring wicket. Every player looks unconvincing when they are out of form, but from what I've seen of him he plays some strokes with class. Well balanced playing shots also. Has scored overseas for India A and U-19's. Just needs a little work on forward defense, seen him get out to pad before bat twice in NZ. Bowled through gap between bat and pad once. Still 21 and talented. This was just a extra game for Punjab, had Sandeep and Bhaji bowled in 2nd innings they would have won. They got 7 wickets in first.

VRV singh and Raina- Chappel possibly Appreciated Only theses 2 Guys as Sure Shot Success and knowing him he is a Critic by Nature and these kind of guys declare genuine Talents only if they are a Sure shot Success......Raina is a Huge success in ODI and T 20 but VRV practically did nothing at international level and has been DUMPED. Even his IPL team prefers to Keep him on BENCH.....that seems a steep decline, I also thot that this guy has the best physique and bowls fast.....even when Munaf was taking 5 wickets people were more excited about VRV......I also thot he is a Special Talent. Where is he NOW.....is he warming Punjab"s bench strength or is he planning to retire. What are Varun Aroon and Umesh doing.....right now if they r fit they will be played in the eleven straight away. I got a Thai Massage done ysterday- there r Superb ways to get these special Talents back.........I am worrieD if they r relaxing and not taking care of there rehabilitation.....India needs them now.

Teams like Mumbai and Delhi have struggled becase their key players like Zak, Rohit, Rahane, Kohli, DHawan, Ishant are all playing for the national side. Also one more question, who was the last Punjab player to make his debut for India? Rahul Sharma in T20s and ODIs, For Tests, perhaps VRV.

G_B_ Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 a lot of young faces. It was seen even during IPL. I dont think Punjab will win the ranji trophy this year but its a case of them being serious contenders in the coming 3-4 years when these guys peak.
