he is just not meant to be a leading from the front politican. i think he should have a behind the scenes role in organisation.

He would be useless behind the scenes as well because till date he has shown absolutely no knowledge of any political calculations based on caste/religion etc which is sadly still vital in Indian politics. He also does not seem to know how to build organizations because nothing much has happened in youth congress despite him being involved there for so long and the congress seems to be going more distant from India's youngsters. In fact the only congress leader who has the respect of youngsters is Shashi Tharoor and that's because he usually knows what he is taking about and doesn't shy away from praising the opposition or criticizing his own party.

so how long to the congress persist with a lame duck? There will come a time when second rung leaders split the party and from their own outfit. Who is he left with? Sachin P, Kamal Nath? and Scindia? At present Kerala seems to be the only secure Congress state where the left are in a worse position than them along with some small north eastern states. Even Assam is up for grabs i would say.

Congress is not persisting with him - it is persisting with his surname. But yeah, if they suffer some more state election defeats then Priyanka will be forced to come in I guess.. The problem is that there is no second rung leader with a mass base now - earlier when there was revolt, there were leaders like Madhavrao Scindia, Arjun Singh, Jitendra Prasad, Sharad Pawar etc who had some mass base and commanded respect. Now Cong has been made so much into a party of/for/by The Family that there is hardly any leader who has the stature and following to cause a major revolt.

Priyanka gandhi has vadra shaped anchor. But i guess she can be better than rahul. They were a bit unlucky with the death of YSR reddy as well. Totally collapsed in that state. With YSR around they would have probably held onto that state.

No pretty much any guy from Ap , telangana you will get the same answer. Their was tussle between Ambanis and ysr according to the rumour. I am just stating a rumour. I am not accepting it. May be it was created by jagan and his followers. Ysr would have never allowed formation of telangana. So I don't care much about him.

Yes. In Maharashtra as well they might have done better if Vilasrao was alive.
