Tridibans_16 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 We're never a bad ODI team' date=' anywhere.[/quote'] Well actually even during 2002-2007, when we started winning tests abroad, we just won a lone Natwest series away from home.
Crookbond Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I don't think preparation is India's forte.
Spiderguy252 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Well actually even during 2002-2007' date=' when we started winning tests abroad, we just won a lone Natwest series away from home.[/quote'] But we didn't care about ODI games. And we were still a good team.
The Outsider Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 In any case, I don't care about the WC. All I know is that I don't want India or Australia to win it - let someone else get a hold of the trophy for a chance - NZ winning it would be awesome and help the world game in general! How will NZ winning it help the world game? When WI won the CT trophy in '04 everyone said OMG OMG WI won a global tournament and this is going to turn around cricket for them and also be better for world cricket, then they won the T20 WC and everyone again said OMG OMG this is going to spark a turnaround for WI cricket.
saneindian Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Before the 1992 WC, we went to NZ, played a tri series, went to Aus played a tri series..didn't help us much. In fact it was said being on the road for far too long meant the players were exhausted during the WC. For the 1991/92 tour to Aus was- we landed there around 10th Nov, WC started on 22nd Feb and we went into the WC having been in Australia for nearly 3 and a half months! Hope we have a better scheduling this time.
Number Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 No ODI team looks great at the moment, if we can sort out some issues, we can be favorites at that time.
Cricketics Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 We need to sort out our all rounder. Jadeja has to show more than just what he did recently in 2 odi's playing well. Can he hold and score those 40-50s consistently if he plays against good pace attacks in South Africa and Australia? and even if he can, forget that, can he bowl well in Australia? I think for a long term prospect, we need to think about that option again. I don't think he fits easily in our world cup squad which will be playing all it's games in Aus/NZ.

Why would you want a spinning alrounder in Australia?
diga Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Why would you want a spinning alrounder in Australia? we dont have an alrounder for Champions trophy in Eng- hope Irfan gets fit & plays the Ranji ODI's & Bhuvi gets a chance to open for UP in ODI's
Lord Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 BK has decent technique and can stick around.need to develop some shots though
diga Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 BK has decent technique and can stick around.need to develop some shots though In England, he just needs to stick around.. runs will come
adi B Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Well actually even during 2002-2007' date=' when we started winning tests abroad, we just won a lone Natwest series away from home.[/quote'] we won 4-1,3-2 in pak,2-1 vs saf in ireland,2-1 in windies.. in the last 4 years (since 2008) india have been in top 3 of the rankings consistently being #1 twice i thing..new set of young fast bowlers must be played regularly in these upcoming odi tours.. i hope aaron, bhuv,,shami ,irfan play most of thse odi`s nd develop skills to bowl with the new ball and in the death ovrs
Cricketics Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Why would you want a spinning alrounder in Australia? What did I write. We need to re-think that option.
Lord Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 dont think Jaddu will be spinning allrounder overseas.hes a backup spinner there.if Ashwin is in bad form like now or injured n Jaddu is doing well, will make sense to play him

Yuvi is the best all rounder we have. We can only hope that Jadeja improves. Also, Rasool from J&K is a guy I would like to see.
