Apart from Dravid and Mary Kom, six others sports persons mountaineer Premlata Agrawal, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, Para athlete Hosanagara Nagarajegowda Girisha, London Olympic silver medallist shooter Vijay Kumar, boxer Ngangom Dingko Singh and rower Bajrang Lal Takhar were chosen for the Padma Shri Awards. Lurker Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Not true. She thinks it's a tad too late. She's entitled to her opinion. Singers like Asha Bhonsle have been given Padma Vibhushan' date= I agree with S. Janaki. She has been neglected and this comes too late. My knowledge of her songs is limited strictly to the Hindi ones. Her voice was very similar to Asha Bhonsle, sample Yaar Bina chain kahan re from Saheb, and somehow inspite of that she did not get a lot of songs. Only musicians like Bappi Lahiri would hook up with her. Anyway definitely a great talent that did not get good treatment from Hindi belt. Good for Rahul Dravid. Great player, great man.:hatsoff:
yoda Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 3rd highest honor for one of India's best cricketer ever? Seems like he deserved better.
NareshK Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Do these awards mean anything anymore ? Even Akshay Kumar got Padma Sri. :cantstop: Dravid is way above these awards. He is Bharat Ratna.
