Double standard judicial/legal system of liberal india...
When terrorists attack your parliament and kill innocent people....you can reward the mastermind. We take such attacks more seriously.

Atleast we have a legal system and don't go around shooting 14 yr old girls. Never understood why Pakistanis think they have a right to comment on india when absolutely nothing is working for them as a nation.

Why don't you adopt all those victims of Bharat sarkar ? You have one third of Kashmir and declare less than 10% of the territory as Azad and then give bhashan to others. As for Indian system, works better than Pakistani system, come and cry here when you hang your generals who allowed rapes and murders in Bangladesh.

That is just a word play of journalist. I am no war monger, but if there was an action to satisfy the collective conscience of Indian society, it wont be hanging a single man, but launching strikes against Pakistan that routinely has been poisoning the mind of such folks :winky:

Chill people, you're dealing with a Pakistani who's pretending to be a liberal and btw is, surprise surprise, a Hamid Gul supporter. As Tharoor has said earlier, "a Pakistani liberal is, after all, a Pakistani before he is a liberal".

Why is Kashmir erupting now? Why such strong emotions for a convicted killer who tried to wage war against India? Where was this anger and outrage when thousands of pandits were killed or chased out of Kashmir?!?

Same reason why there were protests against the hanging of Rajoana last year in Punjab or how the TN assembly passed a resolution to stay the hanging of Rajiv Gandhi's assassins. The government will have to make sure the other executions go through as well.

I just found a nice opinion piece on this subject - very interesting choice of words. Vengeance isn’t justice http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/editorial/vengeance-isnt-justice/article4397711.ece

Indians must remember the foundational principle of our Republic, the guardian of all our rights and freedoms, isn't popular sentiment: it is justice, which in turn is based on the consistent application of principles. For one overriding reason, Guru’s hanging ought to concern even those unmoved by his particular case, or the growing ethics-based global consensus against the death penalty. There is no principle underpinning the death penalty in India today except vengeance. And vengeance is no principle at all.

I second that as well. We must take the attack on the parliament and 26/11 very seriously. For that matter, anything against the state should not be tolerated. I congratulate Congress for this bold step. Both decisions are fully justified. :two_thumbs_up:

Hanging Kasab was justified, he was dirty brainwashed Pakii. But man why we hanged Mohd. Afzal, Normalcy was returning to Kashmir. We know everything about our dirty Police and their interrogation methods. Shame on all those 'newly' patriot Indians who are justifying injustice just because they read about plight of Kashmiri Pandits, but haven't experienced or witnessed any such things to have earned respect for human values. I was fortunate for being classmate of K-Pandits, even they don't have such prejudice like our Internet warriors. Shame on you BJP & other right wingers for celebrating death of your national.

This is not a 1 odd incidence. This has been going on and on. Violence at this level should not go unpunished. I am not against specific people but the ones who are literally against our existence shouldn't go unpunished. I want all the terrorist think million times before acting against India. If proven, I would vote for capital punishment for culprits who committed many other terror activities as well. Its not deterrent but some people are animals and they have no right to live. BJP or otherwise, I dont care. Animal deserve to die. The best way to avoid this by having better intelligence to avoid such attacks and subsequent capital punishment.

kasab;s hanging was justfieid... afzal's on the other hand..it was never proven conclusively..how can you give death sentence if there is even a shred of doubt is beyond me... he could have been imprisoned but no he had to be hanged... with stories of how women exploit the dowry law...it is good capital punishment was not decreed for rape...unless and until a person bringing false accusation is made to bear the same punishment...it should not be implemented

Lol! Afzal Guru didn't choose to be a terrorist for the pleasure from 72 virgins. He was agonized by the military intervention in his territory. Probably too depressed on watching the amount of hell his people had to go through. Kins being killed everyday , women getting raped by the righteous Indian Army. I don't condone his methods but please don't disrespect his memory.
