Ok. I am not gonna argue on how Dravid dragged himself much longer than SRT. How about the earlier part of the post. Wasn't it Partiality on Dhoni's part of keep playing likes of Yuvi Raina despite being proven failures ahead of someone who averaged 70 in FC.

My point was despite being a clear slot for Rahane, he wasn't given a chance. He was even in the squad but other non deserving players played ahead of him. Sachin dragged himself -100% true. Sachin dragged himself more than any other player - debatable but lets not do that here.

you know i am sure even pujara was in team before dravid retired and played at 6 once he is still called his replacement and only found consistent spot after his retirement . i know what you are saying but i followed indian team during that whole year and see youngsters struggle to get into team and these oldies occupying team for 1-2 extra years ..even if they did get chance it was not consistent and with tremendous pressure where you get dropped after single failure

i am not gonna just blame sachin but very fact is he blocked one spot of youngster in batting line up at number 4 position .now , i am not denying selections of dhoni made it worse much worse but what would have happened if dravid did the same ? i am not comparing sachin and dravid but scenario if dravid played until sachin ...we still would not have settled number 3! now even with pujara there was injustice and guys like raina got chance before him but we still say he took dravid's spot dont we ?

A tour where he played a great knock in lower order and got selected for main team again .

But Dhoni is not grooming here, he is sabotaging young players' careers and getting his favorites in. Sachin, dravid were giants of the game who were capable of grooming youngsters. What does Dhoni know to groom young players? Wicketkeeping? ODI and T20s? Players already are good in that. One thing we need grooming in, overseas playing and bowling, Dhoni knows nothing about.
