Over the last 2 years and even before that, Prior has proved that he is far better than Dhoni in test cricket. He has played knocks in difficult conditions and saved matches for the team. Dhoni on the other hand goes AWOL on the slightest hint of lateral movement.

Doesn't really matter. We are comparing knocks, not players. Dhoni's knock came on a tougher wicket against a better bowling line-up. As for lateral movement how does Dhoni average higher than prior in SA, the only other country with bowlers and conditions which have lateral movement (the other being England which obviously Prior cannot face). The very fact that you used the terms flash in a pan sheds light on the fact that you have already made up your mind.

Ind has had seaming tracks. This was a flat flat track. Also even we are agree to your away concept, NZ is not really "away" for England the way you mean it. Using this logic that Faisalabad knock is also an "away" one.

This inning won us the match. We would have lost the match if not for this inning and he lead we got because of those 224 runs. We would not have chased anything close to 200 on that pitch.

agree this was a flat track but why doesnt it matter if its home or away? dhoni plays for csk ,he knows thw pitch better than most,has played few matches for india there as well whereas prior would have played once or twice in auckland..had dhoni played a prioresque inng in nzl to save a test match,it would have been marveled and and many fanboys on this site would have weighed the tons value in gold

This guy Prior now has ranked himself second best test keeper of all time behind Gilly. I doubt Gilly can ever match what Prior did but he still is no1 and Prior no2 all time.

Dhoni 224 was a good innings but came on a decent pitch and team was already around 250 or so when Dhoni came to bat. Pretty much similar on your take on most of Sehwag's innings & stop making up statements. No one has ever said that the Chennai pitch was a flat one & FYI Dhoni's 224 came on that same pitch where Jaddu bowled.
