kubrickian Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Umash is our best bet , and he would be needed in SA. When I see him in SA, I want to see a improve bowler. There is no place for just potential, he has to deliver for India just like Zak used to for us. Bowlers like Ishant should be booted out of India side, he is just a waste of space. B Kumar will be a much better bowler in SA than Umesh. Umesh is more of a hit the deck bowler and he will be effective in Australia. Varun is also similar to Umesh.
kubrickian Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I can stand and chuck a ball and it may spin a mile on this pitch. Don't give too much credit to the bowlers. Quite clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. So stop trying.
kubrickian Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I agree that these condition might not be the best ploy going forward. If we again get whitewash in SA then we would back to square one, which is mostly likely with attack with have currently until Umesh Yadav stop getting himself unfit ,but still we need more quality fast bowlers. We need a quality fast bowling attack, because we are not going to play in India always with such condition, and opposition team doesn't have quality spinner . First, India has to do well in tests at home first. Tests at home are as important as overseas tests. Are you suggesting this series should be practice for SA series which is 9 months away ? Let the team cross one hurdle at a time.
diga Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 yea with umesh and shami we might have a decent attack for the tour The A tour to SA could give us an indication as to how the batsman & bowlers fare in South Africa. Hope the selectors send a proper squad with genuine contenders
trundlerNO1 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 First' date=' India has to do well in tests at home first. Tests at home are as important as overseas tests. Don't want to see another humiliation in overseas, I am ok with losing, it is part of the game but losing like we have been in Australia and England is unbearable.

Varun is also similar to Umesh. Umesh is a swing bowler like Steyn, not a tall hit the deck like Ishant or Morkel or Finn. Umesh has better outswinger than BK and at 10k quicker.

I agree his pace is good but he never got as much swing as BK got in that Pak series.
Old guy Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 He doesnt get that much swing normally whenever I saw him bowl. I agree his pace is good but he never got as much swing as BK got in that Pak series. when was the last time u saw umesh bowl on track which helped swing bowling?

I agree his pace is good but he never got as much swing as BK got in that Pak series. when did you see him bowl in such helpful conditions. Watch his bowling of CLT20 in SA last year. his bowling at Dharmashala in IPL match, in test at Melbourne, in ODI and test series against WI at home.
Lord Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Umesh is defintely gonna be there.hoping Shami/Rajpoot can do well n Sandeep can improve his pace at even 132k consistently
vivek_singh3187 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Umesh, Varun, Shami, BK & Pankaj/Pandey should be our pace attack for the SA tour....Ishant really needs to tailor a lot his bowling...he's already 50+ test old but still bowl spineless deliveries....though we had done so far well in this test..but still its a 4 test series...& one can't underestimate Aussies...as we have the history of making oppositions players a legend...
rkt.india Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Umesh is defintely gonna be there.hoping Shami/Rajpoot can do well n Sandeep can improve his pace at even 132k consistently Sandeep is too young, cannot have any another Unadkat farce again, will have Siddarth Kaul ahead of him.
Lord Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Sandeep is too young' date=' cannot have any another Unadkat farce again, will have Siddarth Kaul ahead of him.[/quote'] I want Sandeep because of his ability to move it both ways.but only if he gets quicker by atleast 5Ks Sid is good, but Umesh is similar kind and quicker.I want variety.ideally a lefty too,but nobody's there
cowboysfan Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Pitch was decent, aussies are going to see worse in delhi.
coffee_rules Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 2-1 to India. We will give up with some fight back.
MCcricket Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I cannot logically understand why Pankaj is not playing for India from last one year.Pankaj, irfan, Shami, umesh , Aaron, Shami should be our attack

MCcricket Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Seriously Sandeep warrior is not 140 plus bowler then Why the hoopla, I read in some article he has raw pace and some cricketers also commented on that, Sandeep Sharma yes he bowls in the PK range but he can be quick
