We have employed no planning but part of the problem is we can't afford as well. I just hope that Rahane somehow gets a look in. Vijay is going nowhere for the 2nd test as well, and if Gautam makes a comeback in the 3rd and 4th test, then it would again be a Viru-Gambhir opening pair. The baffling thing is Jadeja's inclusion. He's picked as an AR, but he clealry can't bat. How is he a better bowler than Ojha. If the team wants an AR, they can surely consider Ashwin as one, but no Jadeja. This kinda team would lead us to another whitewash, esp in SA but we can't experiment right now. Can we? Maybe A- tours and some injury/retirements to tried an tested failures can get fresh legs.

Seriously Sandeep warrior is not 140 plus bowler then Why the hoopla' date=' I read in some article he has raw pace and some cricketers also commented on that, Sandeep Sharma yes he bowls in the PK range but he can be quick[/quote'] I was talking about Sandeep Sharma, not Warrier looked pretty quick of what I saw of him in a few glimpses.

BCCI , selectors and Dhoni are not interested in making India a world class team, they at this time are just interested in preparing doctored pitches at home to avoid loss and Dhoni fletcher don't care enough. To make a good team the BCCI as a sports body should have pride and only thing it cares a out is revenue, Dhoni is a retard and Fletcher is a dummy sreekant was a joke and even these selectors are idiots. I think we have see. The best times under ganguly, wright, Kirsten and our fab 4, the only hope I have is Dhoni is fired as test capt and Ganguly is assigned as a performance manager or consultant

Board and Dhoni have adopted a regressive attitude and don't care a out competing abroad what they care for is winning on doctored pitches they have taken Indian cricket back to the dark ages

Aussies will get better. This was the worst pitch they could get on this tour.
Exactly.. and they won't pick three seamers + hanriques again..

First' date=' India has to do well in tests at home first. Tests at home are as important as overseas tests. Are you suggesting this series should be practice for SA series which is 9 months away ? Let the team cross one hurdle at a time.[/quote'] You clearly didn't watch cricket in 90's. First time I got to see India win a test outside SC was after more than 10-12 years since I started watching cricket. In between we steamrolled anybody who came to India England, SL, WI, Australia, NZ. But outside SC we even lost to Zim. I would hate to see that kind of phase happening to us once again. But signals are very much there. Before plunging low in that phase, we were drubbed very badly on two away tours, but then we started winning on doctored pitches and everything was forgotten. Azhar survived as captain and then were given long rope, unfortunately. We seem to be getting there.

What are your suggestions ? Prepare green tops for this series ? This was a good, result oriented pitch. Aussies didnt have good spinners to exploit it, Indian spinners did. Batsmen can also score runs if they got set and if they were good enough. Dhoni got double hundred, Kohli, Clarke got centuries, Henriques, Sachin batted well. This is the kind of track you want to see in India more often because it offers variety to bouncy tracks in SA, Eng or Aus. If India has to do well overseas, they need to organize more A tours, play domestic cricket in those countries, prepare seamer friendly pitches in our domestic cricket. Not by giving up home advantage.

BCCI should allow player to play county cricket, it helps a lot. It helped Zaheer Khan. Kohli and Pujara should play county cricket than IPL, that is my suggestion. We should not care about money making but care how to avoid another humiliation in overseas

Don't think India has done anything to deserve "Hats Off to India" sentiment. IMO if India can't even beat Aussies on this pitch when Aussies have a lone spinner in Lyon, where exactly will India beat them :dontknow: India losing to Aus on this pitch would be akin to Aussies losing to India on a fast pacy seaming WACA pitch with Aussies playing 4 pacers and India going in with 2 pacers and 2 spinners. It was poor selections of Harbhajan and Jadeja which dragged the Test so long else it should have been over early Day 4 at max.

Damn good cricket played by you guys' date=' I wont complain about the pitch, especially when a dude gets 224 in the blink of an eye. Oz have a woeful attack for these conditions. I always predicted 4-0 to India, dont see why this would change.[/quote'] No matter how bad Australia is , India is not a white-wash team. If anything they completely lose control and would struggle to save the series like they did against England.

They did not play left arm spinner and paid for that. Their three batsmen Watson, Clark, and Henriques will thrash Indian bowlers in next three matches. Warner will also come to the party in between.

They will just get better but I don't see them troubling us like England did with that sort of spin attack. Lyon is their best spinner in the squad. An additional spinner can lend good support but not win matches like Monty-Swann combo did for England

Need to drop Ishant and Jadeja for the rest of the series.

Why would you drop Jadeja who has been stated by the Aussies as the toughest bowler to play strokes. As an all round I wouldn't want him to be on that side but as a spinner he doesn't deserve to be dropped yet. Drop Ishant and Bhaji and get Rahane and Ojha in.

++ Maybe B Kumar can be dropped in place of Ishant but these are the changes that need to be made. Maybe Dhawan also needs to get in the team in place of Murali Vijay.
