Number Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I just don't want him to play for India coz in a long term basis he holds no permanent place, can't bat, won't be able to bowl outside India. No hate.
SLICKR392 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I just don't want him to play for India coz in a long term basis he holds no permanent place' date= can't bat, won't be able to bowl outside India. No hate. Yet the selectors would pick him for oversees and tours and he would easily find a spot in the XI.
BeautifulGame Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 yeah, i dont think people will hate if somebody like a sachin or a kp get the big bucks. Jadeja and Maxwell are still not established international stars. I am sure if your somebody like Cook, you will be a bit disappointed that Jadeja earns more than you. Is Cook pissed off at Messi and Ronaldo too? What sort of stupid logic is this.
saneindian Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I tell you it's that hair stye..irritating and obnoxious
India-KXIP fan Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I know everyone here seems to loathe the guy. But I cannot bring myself to do it. There are some players like Sreesanth, Smith, Junaid etc who looks like they have a punchable face. A really smug facial expression and arrogant haunty look. Jadeja plays with a smile on his face always. He never stops smiling and looks so happy you cannot possibly hate him. With him, you get the feeling that he treats every day of his life as an international cricketer as a dream come true and that he loves being there. The same cannot be said for others. Jadeja isn't that good, no. But you cannot hate somebody for being not that good. We cannot hate him before he tried his very best but even so fell slightly short. His fielding is a million times better than everyone else in team India and he tries much harder than everyone else. But you cannot dislike him for trying his very best. Im pretty sure those cricketers you listed are very hard working people as well so I don't see your point... Is it just cause they don't appear as friendly lol? It's not casual cricket, it is international cricket and a contest.
Clarke Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I hate what he epitomizes: mediocrity and short term fixes (known as jugaad) that is seen in many aspects of Indian society. Its not Jadeja himself, its his acceptance as a leading cricketer in all formats. Think about it, he's in the same shoes (all rounder) as Kapil Dev was in the 80s. That's right, Kapil Dev. Look at all the other key roles in the team: Openers (Vijay & off late Sehwag), Middle order (Raina & Yuvraj very recently), quick bowlers (the unlucky legend), spinners (Bhajji these days) & our wicket keeping captain who isn't really par excellence in his primary duties. Where is the world beating side that hundreds of millions of fans and billions of rupees scream for ? How long shall we continue to have tiny islands of excellence in an ocean of mediocrity ?
Lord Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 agree, the guy is an honest trier.gets booed n mocked by his own team fans, must be tough that
saneindian Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Why Kapil Dev? Why not Ravi Shastri when he was starting out as a young player or Madan Lal or Roger Binny or Manoj Prabhakar?
Lord Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I just don't want him to play for India coz in a long term basis he holds no permanent place, can't bat, won't be able to bowl outside India. No hate. he can be decent backup spinner to Ashwin on away tours I'm still hoping his batting will come good.3 triples cant be fluke, even if they are on roads.we need to give him some time
Pagalpanti Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 How can people judge he'll do bad away without him getting a game even. Given he's not done a lot with bat yet but that is why he's playing at home first, if he improves his batting. Having him at 7 gives India an option to play 2 spinners +3 pacers in away conditions. Also since he's an immaculate line-length bowler, he'll be a perfect foil to an attacking spinner who needs the other end tight.
Texan Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Besides, people want to put this guy down having played only a couple of Tests.... these same people feel that Bhajji deserves chances time and time again, but when it comes to Jadeja, they just hate it. Jadeja has done a lot of hard work in domestic cricket and rightfully deserves his chance.
FreakazoiD Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 People want Rahane to play tests, the same Rahane who was completely out of his depth against Mohammed Irfan, Junaid Khan and Steven Finn on INDIAN pitches, getting cleaned up repeatedly. Yet I always hear the "Oh but he is a test player" argument. Jadeja has been a better bowler than Harbhajan, Ishant, Bhuvneshwari and even Ashwin here in this test, and the yet we keep hearing the ridiculous argument "He won't perform outside India" even before he plays a game! Where did the "let's give him some time" theory go? To top that, it seems people dislike him because he once got hit for a few sixes in a useless T20 game, which is ironic given he is stereotyped as a T20 player. Couldn't it just be that Dhoni picks him over other flops like Rahane because he genuinely believes in his talent? Dhoni, of all Indians, is one guy I would expect to be professional and honest in his captaincy and team selection.

Don't know about the first one.

G_B_ Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Is Cook pissed off at Messi and Ronaldo too? What sort of stupid logic is this. different disciplines plus messi and ronaldo are the top guys in the global game
GautiMaan Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Averaged 16 with the bat and 100 with the ball in the cb series and still played ahead of Irfan and Tiwary.Has an ODI S/R of 75 batting at no.7.Useless in t20 so far. But maybe Dhoni is right to back him,his bowling has improved and he seemed capable of clearing the fence against England.Lets just wait and watch
Vanarp22 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 He was promoted ahead of UV in couple of important game few years ago and he choked in those games. He very rarely wins a game for India and still sucks when the team really needs him. Tbh he is better than bhajji but too much was asked of him and he failed badly. He is mediocre player but right now he is better than some other passengers in the team. and look who your picture is...
I6MTW Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 He is a person who the more we hate the more he does better.
