His defense his compact, he has patience. If anything he may need to curb some stroke play and go safer against better bowlers.

Pujara is already on the way if he keeps this up, to surpass the best 3rd and 4th innings batsman India ever had in its history in the name of Laxman, with such gems as Kolkata'01, Chennai'01, Mumbai'04, J'Burg'06, Perth'08, Colombo'10, Mohali'10, Durban'10 all match winning efforts with the knack of coming up big when it mattered, along with another batsman of yesteryear that comes to mind, my personal favorite G.R.Viswanath. A tough mantle for Pujara but one he can pass, if he keeps this up.

Shunya Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 kya mazaak hai... koi usko Dravid banana chahta hai...koi usko Laxman...woh Pujara hai kaafi nahi hai... only negative about him is his fitness... dunno how he will be able to handle all forms of cricket if he is picked... otherwise he is currently the best batsman in Indian team...

Only time will tell though Dude, Kohli among the names you have mentioned has done wll on bouncy tracks. He scored 44 and 70-odd in Perth against a good seam attack.

No seriously, he has potential for improvement , but he has always been susceptible to the ball leaving him.

Pujara was in 2006 when in final against Pak, we surrendered and could not chase 100 odd runs.
