I6MTW Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 This knock almost singlehandedly won CSK the match. No one could've played a knock like this is t20. Except for ABDV,Gayle.
Sidhoni Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Maybe ABDV, Not Gayle. He can't do what Dhoni did yesterday. he is only good when batting first. Crumbles in pressure while chasing.
I6MTW Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Maybe ABDV' date=' Not Gayle. He can't do what Dhoni did yesterday. he is only good when batting first. He score 47 off 17 and hit Steyn for 24 runs and finished the game single handedly with 1 over to spare. And Gayle has scored so many times 80+ while chasing with wickets down.

Gayle can't play that kind of innings where team needs 80 off 40 with 4.5 wickets down and he wins the match single-handedly.
Texan Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Dhoni is a good T20 player when he whips out his helicopter shot. The problem with Dhoni is that he sometimes gets overly defensive and lets the required run-rate to shoot up. Most of those times, he stays till the end and tends to finish games. But, occasionally, he gets out being too defensive and leaves a tall order for the remaining batsmen (which is mostly tailenders)
Number Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 He has cost more games than won in Intl. T20s. He can be a good player in T20s but he needs some overs before he starts hitting, needs to bat in top 4.
The Outsider Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Not who, but what - his pathetic record in international T20s.
Sidhoni Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Not who' date=' but what - his pathetic record in international T20s.[/quote'] Why are you adamant on getting pwned again. Changing monicker just after one match. :giggle: That will bring us luck, surely!
shortbread Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 He is a very good t20 player or any limited overs format for that matter. Whatever the situation the guy walks out to the crease believing he can win the game, WHATEVER the situation. There is no other Indian batsman who has the skill or confidence to finish of an innings with the bat like Dhoni. Im not saying he can pull it of everytime, but at this moment no one in Indian cricket can do it better than him.
NareshK Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Who said he isnt ? Sometimes he takes an over or two to get off the blocks because that's how he plays in ODIs but as long as he is at the crease, you can be rest assured his side has a chance.
asterix Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Not who' date=' but what - his pathetic record in international T20s.[/quote'] :agree: 100%
JaFanatic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Records in T20s are misleading because you cant be consistent in this format. He also bats lower down in T20s too which means he has to swing right from ball one compared to opening batsmen who have the advantage of playing in power plays. Naturally, average wont be high. What matters is impact on the game and how you contribute to the win. dude thats what he meant
NareshK Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 dude thats what he meant He has a decent average in T20 Internationals. Avg. of 31 is as good as it gets in T20. Strike rate can improve.
G_B_ Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 the way he takes the match in the final over when india are cruising irritates the hell out of me.
I6MTW Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Dhoni should open the innings. He is capable of scoring a hundred.
JaFanatic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 He has a decent average in T20 Internationals. Avg. of 31 is as good as it gets in T20. Strike rate can improve. he has the potential but so far he didn have the kind of impact that he should've had.
JaFanatic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Dhoni should open the innings. He is capable of scoring a hundred. this isn a bad idea in t20s :woot:
Trichromatic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 He has a decent average in T20 Internationals. Avg. of 31 is as good as it gets in T20. Strike rate can improve. Yeah, 19 runs per inning at SR of 115. That's what you want from a lower order T20 player.
rkt.india Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 He plays test in T20s and T20 in tests most often.
