People are overestimating DK here. He is a very good back backup for Dhoni. But as a batsman alone not sure about it.
I am sure he will be better than Vijay

Remember vijay in the T20 wc in West Indies . His technique was awfully exposed then.
That was like 4 or 5 years ago. :facepalm: Whole side failed in that tournament. Nobody should ever play cricket again by that logic, including Raina and Dhoni.

If Gambhir had been selected in the squad,he would have been in the playing XI because of his experience.Obviously the team management doesnt want that because their fetish with Rohit isnt over and they probably want him opening.Vijay might not get a game but picking Gambhir/Rahane would have also given them a middle order option

What happens if we return home without winning single game due to this pathetic line up? Will captain/selectors be accountable? Or they will be spared like after 8 - 0 fiasco? Hw on earth you select vijay over Gauti...this is unbelievable.

Rahane dropped for Vijay? Rahane did well in England during his debut series , has done better than Vijay in IPL and yet no place for him? Same way 3 spinners for England? Or has Jaddu been picked as a specialist batsman? Should have dropped Mishra to pick Shami. Mishra and Vijay will be bench warmers for sure. Ad Dhoni will pick Irfan ahead of Jadeja for the all rounder's spot. So the 11 more or less picks itself. Likely 11- DK, Dhawan, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Dhoni, Jaddu, Ashwin, BK, Ishant, Umesh Bench - Irfan, Mishra and Vijay I will be happy if wecan win one match in the group stages.

We will go to WI directly from England. The tri series with WI and SL starts from 30th June

Both Gambhir and Yuvi deserved to be dropped,But How in the hell can vijay be their replacement.Shami ahmed did well in odis but dropped for no reason .Its good i do not bothert indian cricket nowadays.

BCCI is looking at CT as a preparation for that all important tri series.
