Mariyam Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I know lot of team fans are happy that they will sneak in on NRR but a real teams does it by performing on field-not on a calculator I agree. On another note, its not T 20s that's killing interest in cricket its all this excessive use of statistics. Thankfully, for sometime we haven't seen the Bradman vs Sachin type of debates where posters pull out data right from 1677 AD, and the general conversation is of the type: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sachin_greatest: take this you chumps. (posts a 8000 line long table) Sachins avg is 76.8623, with a stnd devaition of 6.355 only. And the reply Bradman_is_sober: hoho humhum (posts another table filled with numbers) Bradaman is at 76.8628 with only a 2.65 stnd deviation. Now zip it. _____________________________________________________ And this stuff repeated ad infinitum. It kills cricket. Drives away any neutrals.
carnish Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 NRR rule is good. Gives a chance to the Nerds in this great game.
maniac Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Are we trying to prove the nrr is useless theory by qualifying with the lowest nrr by purely winning games.....may be the joke is on the non believers after today's game :dontknow:

Debutant Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Why are you maniac about non entities like NRR, DL Method, DRS. You have to be on same points for NRR to come into play. You will end up way below the top 4. Wake up and stop dreaming about your powerhouse.
maniac Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 We will go through on Wins....Inshallah :two_thumbs_up: This is it......This is the turning point....From here it's only win every game and smash the opposition Stumps like we did in almost every game Go :srh:
bulbul Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 We will go through on Wins....Inshallah :two_thumbs_up: This is it......This is the turning point....From here it's only win every game and smash the opposition Stumps like we did in almost every game Go :srh: +1 Also you are going to score 200+ in evry match from now onwards :two_thumbs_up:
gaurav92 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Its very simple. If rain interrupts a cricket game' date=' some random IItain from the crowd( read motor-mouth Harsha Bhogle) is blindfolded asked to use a barge pole and randomly hit buttons on a kirana merchant's calculator from a distance of 42 feet. What ever is on the display of the calculator is what the batting team have to make in the remaining overs.[/quote'] :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Texan Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 NRR is so much better than the senseless bonus points that are awarded. NRR ensures that you need to play consistent good cricket and even when you lose, make sure the margin is small.
jalebi_bhai Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 SRH NRR will jump to roof today Still in negative.....If RCB win tomorrow.....they should be through.....RR play CSK, MI and SRH....SRH and MI also play each other....teams gonna be dropping points all round.....beat KKR tomorrow.....and RCB should've more than a foot in the play offs provided they lose their remaining games by small margins......RR are under pressure....since they play Bambis and Pawarhaus away from home....and Chettinaad Lungis tomorrow at home.....
maniac Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 :srh: trolling everyone to prove a point...we will do it the real way

RR,MI,CSK all thru. RCB has to win both or win one and hope SRH lose one SRH has to win both as thier NRR is bad, unless RCB loses badly. Only other interesting point is who ends if in 1 & 2.
