Texan
Searching accused properties 3/4 days after arrest :giggle: It took them less than an hour to sabotage their website and even get Wikipedia updated. How long is it going to take them to get rid of all the evidence at those properties? Police will find nothing and as with most cases in India, when the media frenzy subsides, MG will be out on bail and everybody would have forgotten everything about this scandal. Link to comment
bulbul
Mumbai Police says Meiyappan and arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh will be interrogated face-to-face in connection with the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal. Mumbai Police Joint CP (Crime) Himanshu Roy while addressing a press conference said that Meiyappan was produced in court earlier in the day and the police obtained his custody up to May 29. "This is important for investigation as we need to interrogate him to take the investigation forward." The Mumbai Police will take voice samples of Meiyappan. Roy said that the police needs to recover more items from him which will help in investigation Recovery :giggle: Link to comment
jalebi_bhai
It is always a holding company which has majority stake. For instance, it is not Neeta Ambani who owns Mumbai Indians, it is owned by the Reliance group of industries. Gurunath Meiyappan's wife ( Srini's daughter) is the MD of India Cements. In some cases ( especially those relating to insider trading) even a spouse or a close family member of the accused being in a position of power is at times enough to force resignation. All that aside, Gurunath was allegedly the only one present during the auctions. Pretty high a responsibility if you ask me, especially as he isn't any one calling the shots as you claim. The thing is, he was privy to a lot of stuff that was going on in and around the team and hence betting from his end has undue advantage over the others. Edit: Prakat already mentioned that. He also took part in the Owners workshop in Bangkok 2009.... P2tLAqjDpcU Honestly, these chuskis are acting like ass-hats..... Link to comment
Yoda-esque
It doesnt get much worse than one of the principal members of the management committee is found guilty of fixing. Dont give me the bogus argument of whether he was technically the owner or management party or not. One quick raid on all CSK transcripts will prove that he is, de facto integral member of management team, contributing to key decision making and thus being a key management personnel. Dont let your ignorant southie pride get in the way here and see things for what they are: cricekt is bigger than TN or any such state and India has a problematic history of matchfixing. The strongest message has to be sent to discourage match fixing in a sport that generates crores of Rupees. The only right thing to do here is to terminate CSK's ownership and move the team elsewhere, while finding new owners. This type of corruption would quite easily lead to total termination of franchises in any self respecting league you can name- NHL, NBA,NFL,Primier League, the list goes on. As such, all you are proving to be, is a Southie first, everything else second- even if it means blindly supporting corruption. Can't say that i am surprised, though.
