The issue which I have is that in such circumstances people brush aside the facts just because it is spoken by someone with ulterior motives. Personally' date= I would take the content and evaluate the merits of it but I wouldn't allow the person speaking take part in the follow up. This would achieve both goals - the content spoke would be evaluated on its merit and the dubious person wouldn't be turned into a saint for it. :two_thumbs_up::icflove: agree with what kaatil said completely

If only poor people sympathized with other poor people, their problem can never be solved. What matters however is whether the sympathy is genuine or whether they are saying it because saying so is fashionable these days.

Even today in the 21st century, if you go to the engineering faculties of the best universities you struggle to spot the few females. Even then, a significant amount of them are NRIs or Indian students abroad. How is it different than in India ? IITs have had less than 10-20% females for 50 years. From my experience, there are more girls (%) in engineering in top US universities than IITs.

In west, which she is adoring so much now, she would't even have made to TV serials. Similarly, if you look at agriculture (other end of the spectrum altogether) you still see male domination in the West, whereas in the Indian villages women are equally as active as the men. In politics, women have had much higher positions and much more of an influence in India at any one time than they have ever had in a place like the US who are yet to have a female president or vice president. While the women in the countries Sherawat looks up to have been reduced to eye candy and entertainment, in India they have chosen to expand their options and do more significant things with their lives. Agree with most of the points. It is must matter of time people could see through the veneer. Not to say that we don't have problem in our society, but what she says is absolutely bullshit.

Trust Law asked 213 gender experts from five continents to rank countries by overall perceptions of danger as well as by six risks: health threats, sexual violence, non-sexual violence, cultural or religious factors, lack of access to resources and trafficking. Following are key facts on each of the countries, ranked in order of danger. 1. Afghanistan Beleaguered by insurgency, corruption and dire poverty, Afghanistan ranked as most dangerous to women overall and came out worst in three of the poll’s key risk categories: health,non-sexual violence and economic discrimination. * Women in Afghanistan have a one in 11 chance of dying in childbirth. * Some 87% of women are illiterate. * 70-80% of girls and women face forced marriages. 2.
