damn ICF's first celebrity
WAHT, I'm not a celebrity dude :P I'm just another guy that loves cricket and is completely devoted to it, In Hong Kong there is barely a lot of people knowing what cricket is since its mostly chinese people, But if you wanna play cricket play cricket as a player not as a star or a celebrity :), It's easier that way!

I don't understand this. Aren't these 'pro' athletes supposed to be fit all the time. Give me their money n career n i will the fittest cricketer ever
It's not that easy man.....at the highest level......players need to be micro-managed as each players' body responds differently to different fitness routines....some are highly injury prone some are less......some players' body have a long recovery time, some heal rather quickly......you can't keep training all the time.....it is very easy to miscalculate the workload one's body can take......injuries can also be very mentally and emotionally sapping..... Yuvraj and Zaheer have been doing the right thing.......trying to get their physical fitness back to peak levels.......

Bull$h1t!!! You telling me that it is not easy!! What load of crap. There isno reason n excuse for an Indian cricketer to have pot- belly with the amount of resources, facilities n money they have. I m not asking for 6 packs or Watson, Johnson type bodies but having a flat stomach should be a must. It's simple. Cardio, diet n weight training.

I don't think there is a slot open for yuvi anymore even though I think,he should be in the scheme of things till 2015. Zak as much as it hurts to say it,he is done....stick a fork in him

Read the article in the link...... http://cricketsecrets.com/2008/02/warning-overtraining-can-put-you-out-of-action-for-months/ It's not simple......as you can't always predict when your body will break down.......it is harder for bowlers like Zaheer to remain fit 'all the time'.....than for batsman......why do you think the Aussie bowlers are constantly breaking down?? Lack of facilities in Australia?? I support your 'flat stomach' theory.......but your notion that fitness is a very 'simple' aspect of a sports persons career is simply not true......read up on Robin Uthappa's health situation.....

they can do training here in india. match practice i can understand but training in uk. it is just a hangout
Tim Exeter has worked with a lot of athletes from different parts of the world.....maybe Yuvraj and Zaheer wanted to undergo specific training programs under him?? Damned if they do, damned if they don't........

only guy trying hard for a return right now is Gambhir. you can train all you like in the gym but unless you play hours of cricket no one will notice you.
That might come next. Gambhir didn't have any fitness issues and so he straight away is concentrating on form lift whereas these guys have fitness issues which is a more bacsic issue that form. So probably they would have planned to take one step at a time and for now it is gaining back fitness.

thats because fitness isnt an issue for him.it more technical and temperamental issues and playing matches can help. However for Yuvi and Zak,fitness seems a major issue.Once they are fit they'll walk back in the ODI and Test side respectively

Yuvraj on Zaheer

He also said that Zaheer had shed around 6 kilos and is looking a lot fitter. "Zak has been very disciplined about his diet and has shed 6 kg. He is looking in great shape. Actually, we have a great friendship and that helps us gel well during training."
http://www.mid-day.com/sports/2013/aug/230813-cricket-cheeky-yuvraj-singh-working-on-making-yet-another-comeback-to-team-india.htm Great news for Zak. Can he keep fit for the next 6 months and play lots of FC cricket?
