It is common sense.Not Rocket science. Even Raina brought Binny as first change in Bangladesh not himself r aKsha o Mishra. But Dhoni would have brooght on Raina and mishra ahead of Binny he may do it deliberately . That is even more condemnable as he hurts the team indirectly. It is Binny, so no big deal losing him. But imagine if he does the same to some bowler with genuine potential.. If you are a captain you can make any player look totally useless. Bring on 40th over.. Drop a catch off of him.. then after that spell then bring him again at 70th over just before new ball. Even if he is dropped he will still be around the squad for atleast the aus tour & get a few chances here & there. Besides he will also be there for wc methinks. So getting dropped now is not a big deal for him.

He is not picked as a bowler who can bat but a lower middle order batsman who can bowl a bit when needed. Dhoni has always talked about not having a batsman who can bowl a bit of seam up overseas and that is why he is picked up. Dhoni is still checking his batting. If Dhoni thinks Binny is good with the bat, he will bat him at 6.

Dhoni should have used Binny more as a bowler as now he may be dumped with out enough opportunity.
coffee_rules Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Dhoni is making sure there is no more reason to select this guy.He doesn't even want him to give him a chance.If that is the case...Dhoni is fully justified in doing so.If there is pressure on him to select him...then this is the only way to keep him out. In away series, the team mgmt is the captain, coach and the vice cap that decides the playing 11. Thiere will not be any pressure by any selector because no selector goes on away tours. If Binny was in playing 11, it was Dhoni's call and partly the coach. That's why Dhoni picking Binny and not making him bowl in I2 doesn't make sense. He bowled him in I1 and he produced one chance that went begging. The only reason could be that Binny bowling with an old ball wthout any cloud cover for swing, it was more risky when we are defending 140 runs in 2 sessions, but he could have bowled him on D4, when Bhuvi was huffing and puffing.

Well, come at the end of series, he is one of the only few positives, although not played good but at least shown some form of decent application. So I guess the verdict can be he still can have a place in next test squad
