All started with Sethu (the original "Tere Naam" ) :giggle: 7G was awesome when I watched it first time. The movie becomes much depressing if i watch it second time.

Always loved the scene where Sonia Agarwal gives Ravi Krishna a tongue lashing for not telling about his job offer to his dad. The subsequent scene where he overhears his parents talking about the job offer is also amazing.

There are many standout scenes, like identifying his talent and Sonia proposing him in men's restroom to get him focused, Anita enjoying for a second when he hugs her, Anita taking a decision to make love with him etc., Some moments never goes out of memory. Too realistic for bollywood audience though. :haha:

Without human motivation behind the denouement (villian behind the truck etc.), a stroke of fate has to be placed in a greater historical context, like the Titanic, where a budding love story met a tragic end because of a known historical event. or 1942 a love story, or Pearl Harbor etc. What's the message? what's the point of living, you may die any time? bkl phir movie kyon banate ho?

Message is, "Reality hits us hard". Historical events doens't give much impact becoz, the audience knew the ending right from the start. An evil mode of deus ex machina, a story telling technique which has been successfully used in movies like Vertigo, Das boot, the mist, Clerks, etc., Even in Ramayana, after all those epic battles and Rama's determination, Sita gets eaten by earth bcoz Rama uttered a single doubt.

A way chosen by lazy and untalented writers to bring the story to a close. Read up more on the term and Aristotle's hatred of it in his book on Dramaturgy "Poetics".
