UP: Hunt for 1000 tonnes of gold treasure in Unnao begins today

Unnao: Uttar Pradesh will witness it's very own gold rush on Friday. A team of the Archaeological Survey of India is all set to begin excavations at a Unnao fort of former king Raja Ram Bux Singh on Friday after a sadhu dreamt about 1,000 tonnes of gold buried under it. Duandia Khera, a nondescript village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh, led a sleepy existence until Sadhu Shobhan Sarkar claimed that there were thousand of tonnes of gold buried under the ruins of Unnao fort. The fort, he claimed, has more than 1000 tonnes of gold. As news of the saint's dream spread like wild fire, Duandia Khera started buzzing with activity. Archaeologists are now gearing up to begin excavations and curious villagers have been thronging the site. However, it needs to be seen whether the excavations strike gold. But the man who dreamt about it is confident. "There is a huge amount of gold buried under the fort. I believe we will find more treasure than we have space for in Unnao," said Sant Om ji Maharaj. Shobhan Sarkar reportedly convinced Union minister Charandas Mahant of his dream, who then convinced a team of ASI and GSI officials to survey the area and begin excavations. "We had been given proposal by the gram sabha. They think gold is buried there," said VK Anand, DM, Unnao. Unmindful of the end result, villagers are already discussing how to put the treasure to use. "If we find treasure then Raja Bux Singh's name should be added to Daundia Kheda village and an airstrip should be opened in this village," said village headman Ajay Pal. With huge media presence at the site, the village has become a tourist spot overnight. "We have been told about the treasure. Usually people who come to visit this place find silver coins," said Mahipal Singh, a resident of the village. Considering the sudden surge of tourists, the authorities have beefed up the security to avoid any law and order problem. Unnao treasure hunt: ASI sets five weeks for the task
With the excavation to find the gold buried in Unnao set to begin on Friday, it is expected to take the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) experts five weeks to hit the 'dream' jackpot, if there is any, in Daundiyakhera of Unnao. The ASI experts have made it clear that they would go extremely slow when it comes to digging. They have advised the workforce not to dig more than three feet in eight hours. By the calculation of the seer Sobhan Sarkar, the head priest of revered Shobhan temple, and the Geographical Survey of India (GSI) mapping, the ASI would need to dig 20 metres or close to 65 foot. With three-foot a day, the excavation would take at least five weeks. "We are employing the most basic way for excavation. Workers will use shovels, spades for digging up two blocks of 10 foot deep each in the first phase of excavation," said PK Mishra, superintendent archaeologist, ASI. "Workers have been instructed to go slow in excavation as the ASI doesn't want to damage any historical artefact it might hit upon in the process." The ASI has not opted for the technologically driven nondestructive technique it normally applies in such works because of the terrain where dense forest cover poses a problem. Meanwhile, the all-important seer Shobhan Sarkar, who had been communicating to the media only through one of his disciples so far, made an appearance on Thursday. He told the ASI officials, who paid him a visit, to start the digging on Friday only after he had performed a havan at the site. Amid heightened curiosity and clamour, Swami Om, disciple of head priest of Shobhan temple in Unnao, reiterated the gold would indeed be found. If not the government was free to throw him into jail. "Don't you think we do not know the pros and cons if the gold is not found? We are men of God and we do not lie. Anyone having any doubt should come along and see it (gold) for real," he said. The administration, on its part, has sanitized the points marked for digging and banned the entry of general public. In view of the massive public build up, the Unnao police have begun barricading the excavation points and deployed armed police personnel. "All measures are in place to check public entry," said Sonia Singh, SP Unnao. Other than PAC personnel, one subinspector and four armed constables will remain at the site round-the-clock. "The situation is being monitored on a day-to-day basis. No one will be allowed to get even close to the excavation site," she said. It may be recalled, saint Shobhan Sarkar had written a letter to the union government three months ago informing it that he had seen a dream about the treasure lying buried on the premises of the fort of Raj Ram Baksh Singh situated in Buxur area of Dandiyakhera village. This led to the central government directing the DM of Unnao on September 3 to find out the truth.

ASI digging on the basis of a dream :hysterical: think there is more to it.. black money?

Paagal ho gaye hain. And to think the investigation of such an agency is a crucial part in the Ram Mandir issue. :wall:
ASI do not do such things randomly. They must have surveyed the area and that dream thing is false, just a rumor. If they have and nothing comes out then govt must take some action.

खजाने की खोज का दूसरा दिन, हकीकत बनेगा सपना? उन्नाव। यूपी के उन्नाव में सोने की तलाश के लिए हो रही खुदाई का आज दूसरा दिन है। पूरे देश की नजर उन्नाव के डौंडिया खेड़ा गांव में राजा राव रामबख्श सिंह के किले पर टिकी हुई हैं। किला परिसर में सोने के खजाने की तलाश के लिए आज एक बार फिर खुदाई का काम शुरू होना है। इससे पहले शुक्रवार को यहां करीब छह इंच ही खुदाई हो पाई। खुदाई कर रही पुरातत्व विभाग की टीम का कहना है कि खुदाई करीब एक महीना चलेगी। भीड़ को देखते हुए प्रशासन ने क्षेत्र में धारा 144 लगा दी है। इलाके में तीन किलोमीटर तक बैरिकेडिंग है और पीएसी फोर्स तैनात कर सुरक्षा और बढ़ा दी गई है। खुदाई स्थल के आसपास दो और बैरिकेडिंग लगा दी गई है। किले से तीन किलोमीटर तक बैरिकेडिंग की गई है। लोगों का आना-जाना बंद कर दिया गया है। मीडिया को भी खुदाई स्थल से 200 मीटर दूर रखा गया है। फिर भी खजाने को देखने के लिए लोगों के यहां जुटने का सिलसिला जारी है। सोना है या सिर्फ धातु? खजाने की खोज के पीछे संत शोभन सरकार के सपने की चर्चा है लेकिन खुद संत शोभन ने इससे इनकार किया है, वहीं, जिला प्रशासन का भी कहना है कि ये खुदाई एएसआई और जियोलॉजिकल सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया के विशेषज्ञों की रिपोर्ट पर हो रही है। रिपोर्ट में यहां किसी धातु की मौजूदगी बताई गई है। अब ये खुदाई के बाद ही तय होगा कि यहां सोना है या कोई और धातु या फिर कुछ भी नहीं। फिलहाल सभी लोग बड़ी उत्सुकता से इस पूरे अभियान पर नजर लगाए हुए हैं। दुकानें बंद कराईं एक दिन पहले तक किले के आसपास जो दुकानें खुल गई थीं वो हटा दी गई हैं। लेकिन पगडंडियों के जरिए लोगों का यहां पहुंचना जारी है। ये मजमा लगा तो लखनऊ से कोई 50 किलोमीटर दूर उन्नाव के डौंडिया खेड़ा में है, लेकिन 500 किलोमीटर दूर दिल्ली तक में इसका असर दिखाई दे रहा है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में खुदाई उसकी निगरानी में कराने की याचिका दाखिल की गई है। मौके पर सेना तैनात करने की मांग की गई है ताकि खजाना मिलने की सूरत में लूटपाट न हो, याचिका मंजूर हो गई है। सपना कितना सच? हर जगह यही चर्चा है कि इलाके के संत शोभन ने एक सपना देखा जिसमें एक राजा ने उनसे खजाने की बात कही। शोभन ने दावा किया है कि किले के खंडहर में 1 हजार टन सोना दबा है। साधु ओम जी उन्हीं शोभन सरकार के शिष्य हैं जिन्होंने डौंडिया खेड़ा में राजा राव रामबख्श सिंह के किले के खंडहर में खजाना होने का दावा किया है या यूं कहें कि भविष्यवाणी की है। संत शोभन कभी तस्वीर नहीं खिंचवाते हैं, लेकिन आईबीएन7 से एक्सक्लूसिव बातचीत में उन्होंने दावा किया कि उन्होंने सपने के आधार पर नहीं बल्कि किले के प्राचीन नक्शों के आधार पर खजाना होने की बात कही है। खुदाई से पहले डौंडिया खेड़ा के मंदिर में बाकायदा पूजा अर्चना की गई, इसके बाद पुरातत्व विभाग ने खुदाई शुरू कर दी। जाहिर इंतजार लंबा है लेकिन सवाल यही है कि संत की बोली खाली जाएगी, या ये खुदाई डौंडिया खेड़ा की झोली 1000 टन सोने के भंडार से भर देगी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में जनहित याचिका उधर, इस मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक जनहित याचिका दाखिल हुई है, जिसमें मांग की गई है कि खुदाई का काम सुप्रीम कोर्ट की निगरानी में हो और खजाना मिलने की सूरत में लूटपाट न मचे, इसके लिए मौके पर सेना तैनात की जाए। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस याचिका को सुनवाई के लिए मंजूर कर लिया है। खजाने की इस खोज को देखने के लिए डौंडिया खेड़ा में आसपास के लोगों का हुजूम लगा है, देशी-विदेशी मीडिया भी पहुंच चुका है। लेकिन तमाशबीन, पत्रकार, सब खुदाई वाली जगह से 200 मीटर दूर हैं। उन्हें वहीं रोक दिया गया है। इलाके में धारा-144 लगा दी गई है। लेकिन आसपास जमा सैकड़ों लोगों की भीड़ हटाने की कवायद होती दिखती नहीं है। इतना ही नहीं, खुदाई की जगह से 3 किलोमीटर दूर तक बैरिकेडिंग कर दी गई है।
