CI says 79 mph avg speed, top speed of 83 mph, can bowl quicker than this. Have seen him bowl 133-134 regularly in domestic cricket for long spells, should be bowling that speed in international cricket. With his controlled swing IF he can bowl 83-84 mph regularly, he will be a good enough international bowler.

That's a load of bull, a bowler has natural speed , Unadkat has always been 125 to 130 , a bowler trying to bowl faster or slower then that will create more errors in line n length, he is a maha trundler, just acts like a fast bowler and that is funny, maybe he can be worlds fastest spinner lol, but then why blame him, have to blame selectors who pick up theses ass$$ Vk, Unadkat, Mithun, Aravind, Narwal

Unadkat is not a swing bowler really. There are far better swing bowlers in the country. Also, he bowls 78 to 83 mph, even when he is at his quickest. Often he will bowl 76 to 80 mph . That is not sufficient pace for somebody who is not highly skilled.

He has decent height which gives him bounce and also has the awkward angle because he is a left arm seamer. He generally bowls a good line and length and has a decent seam position but it still requires work. But he looks unfit to me. He looks very tired even when he is bowling around 125k and also looks tired on the outfield when fielding after bowling his over. It means his performance will suffer if he plays and travels continuously which is a requirement in professional cricket. He needs to put some weight and get more fit and increase pace by 10k if he has to do well in international cricket. Also needs to work on bowling yorkers because as a seamer he has to bowl at the death.

Its funny to see that speeds in IPL of Shukla and Suyal is used to call them pacers, but Unadkat who also bowls 135+ in IPL (and 130+ in Ranji trophy matches televised live) becomes a maha trundler! These were speeds in an over in the Ranji semifinal, was getting the ball to angle across and getting a lot of bounce off a dead track. Quite good for a maha trundler in FC cricket :) 131.2, 132.1, 131.4, 133.9, 127.8, 130.1 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=2238523&postcount=3020 The good thing is he was able to maintain similar speeds even when bowling late in the day with the old ball. As I said that indipper will make him a decent bowler with the new ball.

Suyal consistently clocked 138-142K in Challenger trophy and up to mid 144Ks in IPL while Shukla also was clocked up to 146Ks in IPL and also not just speed gun reading, looked quick too. Regarding Unadkat, until he can repeat his Ranji speeds in international cricket, people will have doubts. I myself have seen him clocked mid 130s in Ranji an causing all sorts of problems to batsmen but that bite was completely missing yesterday.

People are fuming at his lack of pace after reading OP? OP is quite clueless with regards to Jaidev, he's a medium pace bowler and nothing more. If you watched him for RCB, he was bowling slower cutters for the most part

We should be looking for bowlers who can move the ball at pace, like Shami did yesterday. Our objective should be to find really good bowlers. Why should we settle for mediocracy ? Is Unadkat among the top 3 pacers in our country ? Do people really feel that way ? If not then why is he in the team ?

people need to get off the back of suyal. let the guy play some domestic cricket first. I dont want to hear about Suyal. I just hope our bowlers realise the importance of pace. Its good to hear Pandey say he needs to boost his pace after the Sa A tour. Dhawal Kulkarni started off as an 18 year old 125 trundler but under Pollock and the Mumbai Indians providing him with the facilities he has hit the gym a lot in the past 2 years or so and have added about 10-15 to his pace. Ie he is going something about it. Unadkat is 21 and he need to hit the gym and eat well. He has the height.

If his adrenaline wasn't pumping playing for his first game for his country, he is not worthy of playing for India.

Adrenaline is not the only thing which causes pace. Rhythm plays a big part too. Effort also is not the deciding factor, as goes the anecdote of Dennis Lillee attempting to bowl a quicker ball when he got timed in a match and it coming out much slower than the other deliveries.
