So, South Africans are regular ball tamperers. I was under the impression that the English are the worst offenders now. SAF giving the English tough competition in ball tampering. It is ironic that is is happening against the master ball tamperers of the 80s and 90s. Imran must be a proud man today, seeing how the 'art' he started has spread throughout the world. There should be strong punishment for the current incident but Faf being let off lightly. How is Boon arriving at the conclusion that this is not happening regularly ? His biased pro Saffer stance is shameful.

Michael Vaughan ‏@MichaelVaughan 2h 50% match fee ,, 5 run penalty.... What a load of rubbish.... Anyone caught ball tampering should be banned for at least 10 matches ... #IMO Michael Vaughan ‏@MichaelVaughan 2h You only get fined 50% of your match fee for Ball tampering!!!?If the ICC are not careful teams might run the risk with such a minimal fine! Does it apply for english too :hmmm:

where was this fricking Idiot Vaughan during ICC champions trophy where England walked scott free even though ball was changed, He is right though this 50% fine is just utter crap.

I don't recollect England being penalized 5 runs when ball was changed and no charges were brought on by on field umpires then, Why should others team complain is not umpires job to act according to the rules.

Complete double standards! I remember when Tendulkar had done something similar he received a fine.

Blatant . How did he get only 50%, Dravid got the same for rubbing a lozenge!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahul_Dravid#Ball-tampering_incident In January 2004, Dravid was found guilty of ball tampering during an ODI with Zimbabwe. Match referee Clive Lloyd adjudged the application of an energy sweet to the ball as a deliberate offence, although Dravid himself denied this was his intent.[161] Lloyd emphasised that television footage caught Dravid putting a lozenge on the ball during the Zimbabwean innings on Tuesday night at the Gabba.[161] According to the ICC's Code of Conduct, players are not allowed to apply substances to the ball other than sweat and saliva.[161] Dravid was fined half of his match fee.[161]
