don_corleone840 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 who is the better ODI batsman among these two?
vvvslaxman Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Virat ahead while chasing, Dhoni ahead while setting as he can dig deep and put up a decent total from any hopeless position. Dhoni is a good chaser too. But not getting enough chances these days :)
fineleg Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Both are very good, and we have to keep in mind MSD's contribution as a wicket keeper too (even though here we are only talking batting). And positions are different - top order bat versus wicketkeeper + lower middle batsman.
Number Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Both are bs in ICC tournaments. Will take Gambhir and Yuvi ahead of them in big tourneys as of now. Kohli has the time though.
spiron Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Both are brilliant. But i have seen Dhoni going a bit haywire at times like he was for a few deliveries towards the end. But when he is taking control of the situation.. You dont find anybody near him.

CSK Fan Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 One is a great top order player. One is a great finisher. As someone said, we got lucky. Count in Dhoni's keeping and captaincy and Virat's future captaincy too.
vvvslaxman Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Dhoni will play. ya right.. you play Dhoni for 4 years and drop him for world cup. Kohli has just played one world cup. Too early to write him off. Dhoni was going through a rough patch during the world cup. It is naive to think Dhoni failed in world cup because it is world cup. It is not even a total failure. He played the most significant innings in the world cup for India.
Trichromatic Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Kohli's innings are always on flat pitches where everyone scores big. Yet to see a Chennai like inning from him.

Old guy Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Kohli's innings are always on flat pitches where everyone scores big. Yet to see a Chennai like inning from him. you never will as he is top order player if he hits a 100 team wont be in troublesome position in first place :winky:

Austin 3:!6 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Dhoni is better and it is coming from a big Virat fan.
adi B Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 both are the best odi players in the world consistently for 3 years..both are mentally and physically far more tougher than their compatriots ..both are dependable but have different roles..cant compare them, they are too good in odis
rkt.india Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Virat in Australia against Australia 4 matches 80 runs, average 20. He needs to better this.
