cowboysfan Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Its time.Chinnaswamy maybe be centrally located but it too small and the ground is ridiculously small.Either they have to demolish the stadium or build a bigger one outskirts.
Pagalpanti Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/Ireland/engine/match/226315.html This match was played in this very ground.. :omg:
StriKe Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/Ireland/engine/match/226315.html This match was played in this very ground.. :omg: It was 8 years back :dontknow:
G_B_ Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 just have a bowler friendly pitch to compensate for the small boundaries. probably need to renovate though. Did not see much fixed seating just plastic removable chairs.
SLICKR392 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 just have a bowler friendly pitch to compensate for the small boundaries. probably need to renovate though. Did not see much fixed seating just plastic removable chairs. And cement. Need to renovate the whole stadium.
Pagalpanti Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It was 8 years back :dontknow: Pitch might've changed but the altitude factor and ground size are same.. If curators want they can prepare a decent pitch. I remember India defending 200 here in a warm up game during 2011 Wcup vs Aus.
Stuge Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 its the pitch ,plus news fielding restrictions etc have made the whole difference .
hhunaeh Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It is army land on a lease. Army needs to kick the ksca out. Somebody should tell the army that they are being cheated out of rcb's profits.
Vilander Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Just need the old grass on the pitch again, it will seam around most of the time there..they have f'd up because of IPL..get the old curator or his prodigy to make the pitches..wtf.
G_B_ Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It is army land on a lease. Army needs to kick the ksca out. Somebody should tell the army that they are being cheated out of rcb's profits. depends on the lease. When it was signed and for how long. If its something like 999 years or something like that then forget it.
hhunaeh Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I was just kidding. There is no way ksca is letting go of the stadium in such a prime location. The the lease is till 2069, but there is a court case going on. Survey will end row over Army land A curious disputed case is the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, which was leased by the Army years ago through the State government to the Karnataka State Cricket Association. Part of the city’s defence band and barely half a kilometre from the office of the General Officer Commanding, it is in the heart of the central business district and just opposite Cubbon Park. The Army says it has sought “legal recourse†for this piece, too. It frequently sought to host its tournaments when the stadium did not have any other matches or events, but that has not happened, said Maj. Gen. Venugopal. “Strictly the stadium should hold only sporting events and not allow any commercial activity.†The requests have been raised every year during the civil-military liaison conferences chaired by the Chief Minister. “But that has not translated to reality.â€
coffee_rules Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Make it a minefield like it was during '87. Gavaskar and his swansong.
rageaddict Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 There is some hardcore problem with this pitch/ground. This is the same pitch/ground where a pathetic Odi team like England managed to tie the match with India who had scored 330+ during the Last WC. Same pitch/ground where Kevin O Brien hit a 50 Balls Hundred to secure win for the Irish beating the Odds of 990/1. Same pitch/ground where Gayle hit a 30 balls Ipl ton , 37 runs in an over and scored hundreds of runs/sixes after joining the RCB which allowed him to play 50% of his games on this patta and set the Ipl on fire , unlike his stint with KKR where he was hardly successful.
StriKe Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Mohandas Menon @mohanstatsman 1h Venues with most 300+ ODI totals Karachi 18 ColomboRPS 15 BulawayoQSC 14 Jo'burg 14 Bangalore 13 Centurion 11 Dhaka 10 Sharjah 10 Padosis were blaming Flat pitches in India :hehe:
rkt.india Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Bangalore certainly helps pacers if you leave grass. It also has bounce too. Remember first T20 match against Pakistan.
Debutant Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 The location of Chinnaswamy is excellent. Attendance will suffer if the stadium is too far away from the city especially with the Bangalore traffic. I agree the stadium is too small. Need to somehow increase it.
jalebi_bhai Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 The Stadium needs to be renovated.....they are apparently gradually adding fixed seats.....I also really think that the playing field isn't as small as people make it out to be......it's just that the outfield is lightning quick.......
gaurav92 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/Ireland/engine/match/226315.html This match was played in this very ground.. :omg: Murali Kartik bowled beautifully on that pitch. SAF didn't have a clue.
