Both chand and baba aparnjith burst into the scene with india U19 world cup. Both have progressed considerably from that point. both are representing their respective state teams and now...after couple of years or may be soon they might make an international debut. Whom do you think will make the debut first? A year back everyone would have said Chnad and now...we might say baba Aparanjith after 4 centuries in a row.....but things will change....it all depends on how much hard work they put in and work on their weak what do guyz think??/

In LOIs, it will depend on their IPL success. Baba is yet to find an IPL team which gives him opportunities. Sanju Samson is ahead of them presently. In the longer format, success in Season 1 does not mean much. Baba needs to have at least 2 successful seasons before knocking on the doors of Team India. There is a huge queue ahead of him as well. Baba's immediate aim should be to get into the India 'A' team, which has a decent queue going for itself as well. And Chand needs to score some centuries in Ranji first.

Fame has got to Chand's head. Overrated and is busy with ads than runs.
He is a boom or bust guy . A good score followed by few poor scores.. he doesnt even get starts or scores a few. Doesn't look like a secure batsman. Aprajith has a long long way to go establish his batting credentials against good bowlers on good bowling tracks.

I don't think that's the thing. He wasn't that great of a first class player when he was first introduced. Though he has lot of time and can improve. He is more of a player who needs time to settle and play a good knock. 50 over cricket is best format for him since even in twenty20 he tends to throw the wicket away too early. I don't even understand this thread's comparison as Chand shouldn't even be the candidate right now to replace anyone in our test line up. There are like 15 players ahead of him who can make it to test team before him.

There aren't too many holes in Team India right now. For ODIs, there is one hole in Yuvi's spot. The next is Raina but I don't see him go away for at least 3-4 years. For Tests, The only hole I see is Vijay - which should be a walk on for Rahane. Chand reminds me of Umar Akmal. A lot of hype but very little to show due to inconsistency.

Samson IMO will soon turn into a pure batsman. DOesn't have a good keeping technique, though he's still young and if he wants can become a keeper batsman. On Chand vs Baba, long way to go for both of them. People are writing off Chand on the basis of one failure. In the Duleep Trophy, he did hit a 100 as an opener, though on a flat wicket. Still has FC avg of 38 and List A avg of 37. 2 100s will see that FC avg pushing 45. Both deserve to continue playing for the A side / U-23 squads and should be ready in 2-3 years.
