His control his conviction and belief system came through so wonderfully in such a short speech, most people will be overwhelmed but this guy handled it with such flair, he is ready for bigger roles in public life.

"Everytime I lifted my bat up it was to thank you for you let me chase my dreams and play cricket" - to his dad "The patience with which you brought me up kept me grounded" - to his mother "This is a dream we both have lived together" - to his elder brother, Ajit "Even when I was half asleep you would feed me so I can go out and play again the next day" - to his aunt "You were my best partnership! What a speech! I was in tears...it is one of the greatest moments I have witnessed in my life. Sachin's speech had his wife crying. There were tears flowing from the eyes of the fans in the stadium (and I am sure in front of TV screens, like me). This guy did not display much emotion through out his career - even in interviews. But today he opened his heart and spoke and how! Man I am so so so proud that I am living at a time that he does. I am proud that I was born in the same country that he did. Thank You, Sachin!

Missed the days play today, just got home and watched the speech.. That was some emotional speech. I almost choked when he started thanking fans about their chanting "Sachin Sachin" and the crowds started chanting "Sachin Sachin" again.
