Old guy Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 anyway i will pot here if johnson does something special otherwise i will be here during next game we play and hopefully we field good bowling attack :D
youngindia Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I frankly don't see gentle medium pacers succeeding against aus or SA from my experience in the last decade or so. the last 125 medium pacer to make some impact was vk in india in 1996.but SA batting is much better nowadays.Against aus almost no indian pacer succeeds except occasionally and the more gentler ones hardly.. often people don't realize even srinath only looked moderately effective vs Australia.but did better vs SA. kapil was the last indian pacer who troubled the best.zaheer and srinath had their moments here and there but often failed to dislodge a ponting or kallis In 2003 WC,pacers looked in great form.come Australia, they didn't look remotely effective. if you tend to think success vs England and SL translates into one vs sa and aus.that's not the case.hgiher standard is required.
express bowling Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 i do not see how mohit will get another game just play yadav that will allow shami to open with new ball too and will give us 2 guys who can bowl after 20 overs Yep. And... it happens with amazing regularity doesn't it. We are discussing about some aspect of Indian cricket and some Padosi poster comes and starts vehemently promoting and defending Junaid Khan. It is almost always Junaid. :hysterical::hysterical:
CSK Fan Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Plan was always to sideline BK in favor of Mohit This was obvious right from the India series. Mohit always used to get old ball, BK would never complete his quota. You could clearly see how BK's body language changed as he was made into more and more one spell bowler who was focused on containing runs. And now the first chance he got, Dhoni has sidelined him for his CSK bowler. It was obvious to me for a long, long time than BK was not favored by Dhoni at all right from the beginning and with every match his own bowling confidence was dipping. And no, this is not reactionary at all, I called this out right from the beginning that Dhoni has something up his sleeve. In the end he will go down as one another potential bowler whom we successfully destroyed. Next will be Yadav and Shammi's turn
express bowling Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 But Mohit is not playing today. Plus, BK has got very few wickets in the last 6 ODIs and all test matches. He is not bowling with the same accuracy and zip that he started of with.
FischerTal Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 All the more reason for you to hate Dhoni :--D
Gunner Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Don't worry BK will be back, he's too good an ODI bowler to be sidelined for long.
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 But mohit is not playing:cantstop: Also with BK I sort of agree with dhobi. Goos with new ball, once it gets old is ineffective He always got the new ball BK I do think it may be harsh to drop BK here for Ishant.
Lord Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 gotta say BK played perfectly to the plan by bowling crap
Silva Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 On second thought Z khan and shami with the new ball and yadav 1st change is the obvious choice. yadav and khan bowled pretty well in australia despite being under scoreboard pressure all the time and getting no help from Ishant and vinnay kumar. It wouldn't be smart to leave either of them out if their 100% fit. Shami obviously has to play too.
Laaloo Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I have a bad feeling.... Ishant will be in the team for the 1st test :(( Well there goes the test series as well
tweaker Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 If he bowls klike today, than he has really discovered his form.
StriKe Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 If he bowls klike today' date='than he has really discovered his form.[/quote'] Ishant and form in same line :cantstop:
CG Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 If he bowls klike today' date='than he has really discovered his form.[/quote'] He has not sorted his technical problems still no swing and his seam position is horrible. He cannot maintain pace as his wrist falls and runup issues ,he can provide a good spell once in a while but cannot be consistent.
CSK Fan Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 He was always going to be the part of the test team. and considering our alternative, this bowling lineup is fine. unless we want to drop one of Ashwin or Jadeja
