Personally I think he got talent but he got a cluttered mind which is not at all good for a good batsman.. He does all that rituals before taking stance everytime... You gotta have a clear mind to battle it out in tough conditions.. On the other hand, seems like he doesnt get frustrated.. he battles it on. In ODI, when he was given out wrongly, he didnt show his frustration at the umpire.. he just walked off. Not easy to do that when you are given a rare opportunity in ODIs and given out wrongly

He should be allowed to grow within his limitations. After gaining a settled place in the line up he will start expressing himself.

He has been playing brilliantly out there. I always thought Rahane is the real deal especially overseas. He has no apparent weakness, plays short ball very well. He will do very well for India in the middle order. I just hope that Rohit can show some discipline around off stump, the next time he comes into bat. He has the talent but his wafts outside off-stump will be his undoing in the overseas tours.

great innings today providing support to the innings, batted well with dhoni and hope he gets a 50 and then a 100. He deserves it and looks solid. Steyn was sledging and he stared back at him. This is what we need.

If we show some more discipline this batting line up that we've got right now which is inexperienced but immensely talented can blossom into a fantastic one both in sc & outside sc.We should stick to this line up except Vijay, though he'll get more chances based on his performance against Aus at home.Problem is we don't have anyone except Gambhir right now to replace him.

He is a good bat but remember how he started in England, looked a free flowing batsmen taking Anderson Broad on from the ball one. Then suddenly after 2-3 months totally out of sorts, lacking confidence and that too on Indian pitches. Finn bowled him 2-3 times by the same delivery. I pray he succeeds but he will need to be more confident and positive with every innings.

We saw how Rohit transformed once he was given a consistent run. The confidence factor is key with Rohit and Rahane, they have always been in and out. Now that all seniors have finally been moved out and with them assured a long rope, they'll definitely do better.

This is a golden opportunity for him to gain his confidence back and also to seal his spot in the team for a while. When you know that your spot is secured you can play freely. This is his chance to achieve that. If he scores at least 30-40 more runs tomorrow it would do him a world of good!

Pleasantly surprised to see him do well here. I have seen him bat before and seen him throw his wicket away easily without any effort in trying to settle down or try to fight it out. Just gave an impression of a batsman who tried to play too many shots and didnt have the mental strength to play against good bowlers. Good to see him apply himself and score against a real good bowling attack on a helpful track. Perhaps he is more suited to the longer version. Hopefully, more good innings to come from him.
