Austin 3:!6 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 A wholehearted cricketer who always gave his best for the country. Almost single handedly carried the Indian attack for a decade or so. Played a pivotal role for India to win the World cup and many test match success overseas. BUT he seems to be in his last leg and might only play couple of more series. So do you think Zaheer will be remembered as an ATG played for India?
Pagalpanti Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 No Avg >30 in test doesn't warrant such status.. Given India's history, can certainly be considered an Indian great.
GolGappe Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Will make it to all time India XI but not an all time great because of his bowling average
King Tendulkar Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 If he bowled most of his games in SA, NZ and England would easily have sub 30 average Pit philander on co on indian pitches and there average would go north by miles Defo ATG
Trichromatic Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 If he bowled most of his games in SA, NZ and England would easily have sub 30 average Pit philander on co on indian pitches and there average would go north by miles Defo ATG That's like saying that if Cook was not playing for Eng, then he would have averaged 55+
Gunner Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 He became a better and highly skilful bowler following his stint in English County cricket. What's his pre and post-county average?
rageaddict Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 ATG ? Lol. Not too long ago hes bowling average was on par with Darren Sammy in Tests.
ravishingravi Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 He became a better and highly skilful bowler following his stint in English County cricket. What's his pre and post-county average? This. ATG Indian bowler certainly.
Asim Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 32 avg with 60 SR... Not even in Top 20 bowling greats...
ravishingravi Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 32 avg with 60 SR... Not even in Top 20 bowling greats... He certainly won't. But there is more to cricket than stats.
Asim Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 He certainly won't. But there is more to cricket than stats. I thought those are his CRICKET Stats :dontknow:
panther Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 No just a handy bowler who waits for things to happen, very rarely runs through a team.
Austin 3:!6 Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 I consider him a the 2nd best left arm bowler after Wasim from Sub continent.
Asim Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I consider him a the 2nd best left arm bowler after Wasim from Sub continent. critaria thora aur tight kar lo :--D peechay bacha hi kya hey?
jf1gp_1 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 i thought title ATG was only reserved for Pak bowlers
cricketman Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I consider him a the 2nd best left arm bowler after Wasim from Sub continent. I was actually thinking this myself just yesterday. Does Zaheer warrant a place in a SC XI in the 2000s? I think that is a certainty for sure. I think this in itself is a great achievement considering that historically Pakistan have been famous for producing the quicks.
