fineleg Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Even a fighting half century by two or three Indian batsmen will be more beneficial for them - even if SA eventually win. Rather than sitting in the dressing to wait out the rain, and test draw. This experience of a raging SA bowling attack against India will stand them in good stead for NZ and Eng series. So, forget rain, lets go face the SA attack and try what we can. SA will want to win this as a gift for Kallis and they will be majorly pumped up. Good experience for India to face them under pressure on day 5.
The Outsider Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I'll be disappointed if we lose tomorrow, but all SA needs is 3 more wickets to expose a very inept tail. If we are to save the game, the tail has to ensure 20-30 overs.
SLICKR392 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 **** rain. Those guys were sissies in the first match, we have to fight our way until stumps. Its sunny, would be good time to bat. Hopefully, we don't gift our wickets away.

I am hoping for an epic fightback but I deep down expect India to get bowled out few overs after lunch giving RSA 50 odd runs to chase.
vvvslaxman Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 SA has atleast 3 match winners and useful partnership breakers. Then they have Fauf and ABDV on the field :hitler: Odds are heavily stacked against India. All i want is fight. fight. that's it. If you get out to peach of deliveries. can't do much.

But I expect our IPL blitzkreig superstars to play rash strokes after getting their eye in. I can see kohli chasing a wide one, Rohit chopping on to a ball too close to cut. Dhoni playing an expansive drive and edging it to first slip, Jaddu playing across and getting trapped in front, Zak the hack getting caught at point, Pujara the only one, getting out to a peach from Morkel :hatsoff: :((

Your post had me visualizing all these dismissals. So much depends on Pujara-Kohli. India can't save this one by batting time only. It's an uphill task with a very inexperience batting line up and an equally limp lower-order but Indians have saved couple of games in RSA from similar situations.
I6MTW Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 If India bats until tea and gets a lead of 200. Then we can declare and hope of getting ten wickets after tea.
Cricketics Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Don't want any rain. Want our guys to fight it out and put up a lead. Will be brilliant satisfying closure to the series.
NareshK Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Its much better to go out there, bat against these bowlers and fight it out and learn from this experience than hope for rain. It will hold them in good stead in the future and give them lots of confidence.
nitinbwj Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Bright sunsine all around, that's excellent news and the experts reckon we might be in for a full day's play Cricinfo..
Holysmoke Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Please rain. Or someone go pee on the pitch or something.
