There could be a fix coming. Shami is great and is going to serve us well. We also have 2 fast bowlers in Yadav and AAron who are both quick and should come in. Plus you have the peoples champion BK who is handy and in theory strenghen our tail. So there are very good prospects to come in. Lets hope dhoni gets them in and back them etc. Allows them time to adjust and improve Jadeja did really well and would seem to be great spinner potetially for overseas as well. Yes our bowling will never be as strong as our batting. But we have some very good young seamers to come in. Its not all doom and gloom on this front

Yeah right be happy like other moronic fans of other team who tend to think that batting and fielding is not needed for the team and it is someone's else job. Bowling has been awful in all the matches on this tour and how can that make anyone happy.

I expected our batting to do well but for our bowler to not take 8 wicket in the final day instead nearly giving away a record run chase in the first test and then for our pace bowlers to go 3/300 wasting a 6 wicket haul from jadeja was very depressing. I would be okay with it had we played newbies like yadav or buveneshwar to see what they are worth but we played ishant and zaheer who have 400+ wickets in test cricket. Plus they misread the pitches. Yadav should have played a head of ashwin in the first test and ashwin should have played ahead of ishant. Bcci is rich their is no excuse for our think tank to misread the pitch conditions and screw up team selection like that.

Have to agree mostly with above post. The fact that we competed is good, but our bowling was, and will be, very poor. Must improve it by bringing in new players pronto. What we need is: a) An express pace bowler b) A tall pacer who extracts bounce and some seam/swing c) A swing bowler capable of striking with new ball We also need one of the above 3 to be adept at reverse swing. Here are my contenders: a) Yadav, Aaron b) Pandey, Pankaj c) Bhuvi, Sandeep Sharma I don't know what category Rishi Dhawan and Anureet Singh fall under.

completely agree. After all, India was NOT thrashed 0-2 and did not suffer big innings defeats. We only lost the series 0-1 honorably. Since india modestly surpassed our incredibly low expectations , we should congratulate this team and be happy.

I am absolutely shattered to sit through yet another away loss. 20 years of touring SA and we still not have won a series there, hell only once have we avoided series loss. Our pace bowling is utterly impotent and I foresee a lot of humiliations in England and Australia. Shame on Dhoni and the selectors for continuing to select that waste of space Ishant Sharma - in no other country would such a poor player play 20 Tests let alone 50. If we are happy at losing a series then shame on us frankly. I can understand Bangladeshi or Zimbabwean fans expressing pleasure at losing but it is an absolute disgrace if the world's richest board continues to churn out a team that gets pounded by 10 wickets. Really pathetic stuff from a frankly pathetic Test nation away from home.

I fully understand people being frustrated as winning is what its all about. Loved to have won but lets be honest never on the cards, we were favs to get a total thrashing, never happened. Gave them a real game, they had to fight so hard. Bit more luck and could have gone other way. BUT bigger picture This will lead to many overseas wins in the future, guarantee. A brand new team, brand new batting line up. So obvious we going to pile on some serious score oveseas. Real heartning. Bowling, we have 2 good bowlers. Jadeja and Shami, both young. Then add Yadav, BK, AAron (all young) we have a decent attack and real potential. I am very very optimistic and excited

With some tweaking, everything can be made to look pessimistic as well. a) Vijay did OK, but SA don't seam/swing as much as the NZ/Eng tracks. So, he will be found out. b) Dhawan, Nohi and Dhobi have already bee worked over. c) The less said about Zak and Ishant, the better. d) Shami is still very raw, and probably needs to go through a big learning curve to become effective against good batting sides. e) Jadeja did well, but it is just one innings. Besides, he can't bat f) Ashwin is not useful on barren tracks (from a spin POV). Again, I don't mean to say that the above facts are true. I'm just saying that one could interpret the series any which way one likes. We need more data before judging this team.

a. SA track easily best in the world, pitches are a bit flatter and atacks easier, do well here no probs b. Dhawan and Rohit looked at ease on SA tracks, they will flourish now c. agree d. will find much easier prey then this stellar SA batting team e. True. But I think batting will get better f.
