Got a good ball, but other than his chance on the day 3, he really looked great today. He let go lot of deliveries, which was great to see. He batted with brain. As soon as he saw Kohli scoring runs, he played the 2nd fiddle role. At times, he got too slow, but it was perfect. I think he really looked good.

One of the worst bowling attack in world cricket who consistently gives away huge totals. 2. Poor slip catching and fielding in general bar a couple of players. 3. Worst tail in world cricket which starts at 5 down and we are lucky to get 50 runs once the 5th wkt goes down. MS needs to go from the test format his leadership is pathetic he is defensive sucks as a batsman overseas at Test level he is like our version of Darren Sammy

In the 2nd innings India came back with a better bowling plan (which worked perfectly) and the batting was much better (but still not good enough). Fielding was also decent. The next match is where we finally end this overseas losing streak.

Cricketics Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 More than the times he got wickets, I was amazed seein him run in hard in the first session when he wasn't getting any wicket. McCullum came to talk to Southee if he was all right as he and Wagner had overbowled, but even though Southee showed signs of getting worned out, Wagner kept running in hard with same line and length to ge wicket. Bowled brilliatnly and deserved his wickets. Reminded me of Peter Siddle, who too run sin hard and tries his best over after over to ge a wicket for his team.

They both have csk to rely on and ipl is what they care about. we cant expect accountability or commitment from these autocrats. Dhoni has byhearted the reasons for loss, he just repeats the same thing after every single loss.
maniac Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Positives and Negatives of each player in the XI Positives Vijay-Has been playing the new ball very well.Hasn't shown too many weaknesses Dhawan-Attacking player,when is let off can hurt the opposition Kohli- On current form one of the best batsmen in the world Pujara-On current form one of the best batsmen in the world.Will not make the same mistake twice as he showed us in this game. Rohit-Can be classy when set. Rahane-Brilliant fielder and calm under pressure. Dhoni-Has the team's respect and players seem to enjoy playing for him. Jadeja-World class fielder probably best in the world and on current form best spinner in the side. Zak-Past his prime but has the respect of his juniors and a good mentor.Bowlers around him perform better just by his presence. Shami-Wonderful potential and probably India's best bowler right now. Ishant-Whenever you write him off,don't know how he does it but he picks up wickets.Also one redeeming quality is as a 3rd seamer you need to be able to bowl long spells which I think he can do. Negatives Vijay-Does all the hardwork but very poor conversion....20's and 30's as opener will just not cut it.Also poor fielder Dhawan-Lot of flaws in technique....Not convincing,Got a 100 but still no confidence in him in these conditions. Kohli-Needs to learn to score big in Tests.Loses concentration in this format. Pujara-APart from fielding,not much to pick here.First time saw him playing a lose shot so will give him the benefit. Rohit and Rahane-More or less same issues.Very inconsistent.ROhit scored a 70 in the 1st innings,Rahane is coming from a succesful overseas tour where he has almost cemented his place for a while but they still look shaky every time they bat. Dhoni-bone-headed On-field Captaincy,His keeping despite being solid,he shouldn't be standing that back to our bowlers and batting, well his gully tactis with the bat will not work at this level.Can't blame him for his always non-existent technique but atleast fight it out there man. Jadeja-3 300's....some decent ODI innings but plays like a tailender in tests.Can be a better bat but so far has been horrible at the test level. Zak-Poor fitness,No pace,over-the hill,Poor fielder and absolute no fight with the bat. Shami-Inconsistent and erratic,Wasted the newball in friendly conditions.Needs to stick to a plan. Ishant- Doesn't deserve a spot,Lost his pace,Poor fielder,very inconsistent.Most nonthreatening spell i have seen from a bowler who picked 9 wickets

But they kept bowling ball after ball in the same area...as I said he was not totally hopeless but could have done better as he had got the best conditions in the entire match

Also, it's time for Dhoni to give up Test cricket and focus on ODI cricket, where he is one of the game's greatest batsmen. Saha can be the keeper and maybe Kohli can take over as Test captain Why??:hmmm:
