Best batsmen of all time. #2 Botham In what form of the game? In ODIs, almost certainly yes. In Tests, he declined a lot during the latter part of his career. So did plenty of good players.

Not just the runs he scored, but his ability to dominate and dictate the game. He had presence like no other player I have ever seen. In ODIs, he is unmatched. In tests, he is the most dramatic game changer. Best player of pace probably ever. Wonderful player - and he flayed England so much I should be bitter, but that's not how I operate. :two_thumbs_up:
Vijy Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Graeme Pollock - probably the best left hand batsman of all time, and one of the greatest ever. Also scored runs at a fast clip as a List A avg of 50+ attests. On the bowling front, Clive Rice would be an automatic pick too. Punishing middle order bat and a consistent wicket-taker in List A matches with the ability to crank up pace when necessary.

Viv was deserving of 'greatest player of pace' tag for the first 5-6 years of his career. Then he was pretty ordinary. Viv was what Sehwag would've been if India had 8 worldclass fast bowlers to choose from and knew that if anyone dared to bounce him repeatedly, their bowlers would kill the opposition batsmen in retaliation.
