The guy scored 1200+ runs in 2013, scored a 200 just 6-7 matches ago, although in easier batting conditions. As a pair Rohit and Dhawan have been fairly successful with lots of 100+ partnerships. Have not adjusted well to conditions in SA and NZ but still deserve this series and the Asia Cup before being chucked out. I will understand about Dhawan. Rohit Sharma is on his second leg to most of these places. It is not just about "adapting". it is about technique against swinging new balls. He has no idea about where his off stump is. Also he leaves a large gap between bat and pad . Plus he can't rotate strike. Worst part is these NZ conditions were not even that tough. Only teeny tiny movement with a bit of bounce. He couldn't cope with that. He has to swap his positions with Rahane. If 3(25), 5(24) this is what he is going to offer us it might as well be Rahane. Atleast he can last longer.

I would've agreed if it were any other player,but Rohit has a long history of failure.I mean if he were as good as his fans think he should've been a batting stalwart for us by now,but he's far from it.Ofc Dhoni will give him many more chances so you wont have to wonder.

There has to be a cut-off point somewhere as you cannot forever give endless chances (Dhoni's long rope) to someone who it appears will only ever be a pretender rather than a contender. He is a poor man's Graeme Hick at best.

Give it a try, abuses can wait. 10 innings prior?! Is that your excuse for someone who has been playing International cricket for 6 friggin years, 10 innings, honestly!!!! Virat Kohli's début into International cricket was long after his, look what he's achieved instead of having an orgasm on Nohit's 10 innings!! This guys has wasted way way more opportunities than any benefit he's brought as a human being into the earth, let alone the Indian team. I agree, we are carrying a few passengers, Raina, Jadeja etc... but what peeves me the most is the selfish nature of his game, and you had the audacity to blame Dhawan on another thread!! Someone who is at least trying to up the ante because Nohit decides to take a single once in a leap year?! Even Bhuvaneswar Kumar has a better sense of purpose when he steps out to bat than this clown!! By the time Nohit gets out the momentum is strongly with the opponents with rest of the batting order having to play catch up. Did you even see today's game or are you busy exciting yourself watching Nohit score against WI on patta tracks?! 10 innings!! May as well bring Debasish Mohanty back for the few wickets he took in the 99' World cup!!

express bowling Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Rohit begins his innings extremely slowly. If he stays long enough, he makes up later in the innings. What happens if he gets out after 30 or 40 balls. 5 runs in 30 balls ,or something similar, is costing us the match. Rohit's playing style in ODIs can be disastrous if he is out of his depth or out of form. That is happening now.

So he's practicing for test series in ODI's. Otherwise he would score 100 in 50 balls, because he is the most naturaly tailunted player according to critics.

His temperament has always been suspect. It seemed in India that maturity has improved this aspect. After a few failures ... the suspect temperament is back. Why he does not rotate strike is mindboggling.
