Akram had a strike rate of 56 and Pollock's was 58, so his S/R wasn't that bad. Also he picked all those 434 wickets despite having no support from other seamers. If he had decent support bowlers, he would have crossed 500 wickets easily. That's how great he was.

Can't just pick some good series to prove one great neither can't pick bad patch series to prove one below average. Kapil was good but other bowlers mentioned were definitely better than him.When we do comparison we have to consider all matches played and then compare SR etc. Lara never flopped because he had below average batters in West Indian lineup.Great players shine even in some bad teams.

I felt really sorry for him in that series against Sri Lanka when he scored over 600 runs and West Indies still lost all three matches.
