He will eat up balls, wont rotate strike, bring the run rate down to a miserable 4 runs an over etc...etc.... Even worse; his antics will frustrate Dhawan who will end up losing his wicket trying to make up for arsol's incompetence. I suggest Rahane opens with Dhawan, I know hes no Gayle but Rahane is at least capable of taking singles and giving strike back to Dhawan. Pretty sure nohit will somehow score an odd 50 to satisfy his followers, but will end up ruining the batting in rest of the games. I dont care who opens with Dhawan as long as its not the regular ape!!

Why dont we move on from rohit, although dhoni and even kohli wont. rahane is much better, takes more singles, add less pressure, takes things seriously and isnt lazy like rohit. I want performance and dont give a rats @ss about talent. Look at Graeme Smith, some say he has an ugly technique but the man is a legend! He performed. Rohit does not. So i would have rahane and dhawan in both odis and t20s for now. Rahane is also an electric fielder, needed in the format to lfit the energy.

moniker Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Shouldn't be confusing a player's approach in one format with another. Rohit is circumspect in ODIs doesn't mean he'll be the same in T20s. He has a strike rate of 78 in ODIs, but 127 in T20Is and 130 in T20 (international + domestic).
