Hogg wasn't that god a spinner anyways. Hodge is a good one day player, he kept piling runs in domestic circuit but never got picked consistently.

maniac Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Not a Short Career but anyone remember Ritender SIngh Sodhi,he was supposed to be the next Kapil Dev,won an u-19 WC and was hailed as the next big thing...Got a run in the ODI squad and then dumped. He is unrecognisable now....I remember he was a Sardar but now I beleive he is no longer one.

This guy was Right Arm Medium Fast, played just one Test Match that too against Australia in Sydney , 1991 picking up three wickets for 47, those of Mark Waugh, Mark Taylor and Geoff Marsh in first innnings. He played in this match as 4th seamer at the expense of a spinner. As it later turned out ball was turning significantly in 4th innings when Australia was trying to save the match. A spinner was sorely missed. Ravi Shastri, who had become occasional spinner by that time, carried out job of main spinner and picked 4 wickets. If we had proper spinner we probably would have won that match.
