I was hearing Jadeja in a press conference a while back and his was pretty poor by world standards too. Nowhere near Akmal bad but plenty of those laughing at Akmal would laugh at Jadeja's English if he was a padosi too.

India majority do and several in Sri Lanka. This is really only an issue for Bangladesh and Pakistan. So please do tell what should be the main language?

Austin 3:!6 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Not laughing at Umar here but you cannot really compare cricket with other sports like Soccer, basketball etc. Cricket is only played in commonwealth countries where England have ruled once. As a result English (indirectly) is the official language in cricket. Cricket is not a global sports like others. You will see almost all countries that plays cricket speaks English (broken alright). Pakistani players inability to speak, specially in front of foreign media give them and their country a bad name. Probably PCB needs to look into this matter and try to provide at least basic courses.

I don't remember any other sport (Tennis, Football included) which requires you to give an interview in a language not of your choice.

You should be allowed to speak in a language of your choice. This is a cricket tournament not language speaking tournament.
