I sincerely hope gavaskar can now question why ishant keeps getting selected even though he is the worst bowler in history of cricket & is incapable of any improvement. How zak gets selected even though he is way past his peak or how dhoni is the captain when he isn't good enough to be in 11.

Picking wickets is the key for me. Nothing alone wins you match. A good ER plus good average and good SR.

5.5 is not a great ER anyway with averaging 60. It is not like his ER was 4 or 4.5. ER 5.5 with no wickets. It means he was conceding 55 runs with 1 wicket per 59 balls. Shami picked wickets. Picking wickets is the most important thing. Why was Bhajji dropped because he was not picking enough wickets. His ER was still very much acceptable. ER alone will not keep you in the team. ER is useless if you cannot pick wickets.

He was a Home track bully like Dhoni and a good finisher like him as well,Encouraged spin bowlers like Kachra but as a test cricketer I rate Bhuvan was leagues ahead. Also he won the home series against England :giggle:

Not to mention Bhuvan's victory jig was a lot better than the stupid stare + shoulder shrug that Dhoni did after hitting the WC winning six.

After the series in W.indies, that's his ODI record Matches - 18 Wickets - 12 Avg - 69.33 S.Rate- 76.6 Econ - 5.42 And not to mention his test record 9 wickets in 11 innings with an average of 38 and strike rate of 69.3. Can't believe he was playing test matches ahead of Yadav against W.I

Odi perfromances are generally given more limelight in india.he burst on to the scene like mna y others with good performances against pak,eng in india.He is a limited bowler and it was expected he would go downhill which he did.He can be a good odi bolwer and he has improved some of his skills like death bowling but lost on new ball.

Bhuvan has to be our 3rd seamer..... Would go in with Bhuvi,Ishant/Shami and Yadav with Ashwin being the allrounder........Has better technique than Jadeja for sure. Can't beleive people want to drop Ishant.....check who is the highest wicket taker in Newzealand and check his last 4 test performance....give the guy a break. Yes he has had mediocre time in ODI's but has improved his test bowling
