rkt.india Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Not sure how accurate these speed guns are. Saw Bhuvi hit 145.8 or something like that and the ball didn't look nearly that fast.... One odd delivery like this can be attributed to error but speed guns have been pretty accurate in general. They sometimes fail give right numbers on slower balls.

Always look at average speeds they are normally good enough even with some errors but speed guns consistently are not wrong so if some one is averaging 140 k that means he is genuinely quick

He is no longer a trundler. everyone goes all out its just 4 overs..the unfit ones who conserve much in ODI's bowl much faster in T20's if you see top bowlers they bowl same speed in ODI's and T20 some like Johnson who are super fit bowl same speed even in Test first spells. So Shami who can hit 147 often does not in odi's as he conserves and bowls 136-145 and Bhuv who can hit 137+ often bowls 120+ in ODI since he is super unfit.

Vilander Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Aaron got the length perfect for the pitch today, his fastest was 146.6 odd good pace mostly around 140 - 145 bowled a few slower ones got two wickets on slower balls. Waiting to see Umesh.. hope he hits 150.

express bowling Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Umesh bowled 140 to 143 k mostly with a fastest of 146.3 k. Not at full pace yet . Talking about his first 2 overs. He bowled pretty badly. Lots of short wide deliveries without much bounce or plan.
express bowling Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I am really disappointed with Umesh today. Here is a bowler who is out if the national team for quite some time. He gets an opportunity and bowls without any intensity or plan. Lots of long hops without any bounce. Not good.
