Its Karun Nair who proved a revelation this IPL. Bright prospect.
Yes. Karun Nair is much better technically than Samson. I would not be surprised if Karun scores more runs than Samson in Ranji trophy next year, for being technically a much better batsman. Also, iirc Karun scored more runs in IPL than Samson this year. Karun's highest score is also probably better than Samson's? Samson is under 20, so he has lot of year ahead to work and improve. If Uthappa at the age of 27 can appoint a personal coach like Amre and improve the technical weakness in his batting to score bucket full of runs in Ranji and IPL, then why can't Samson who is almost 10 years younger do the same. All these young cricketers have lot of time to make drastic improvement.

Samson and Vohra are the best young talents..they seems to have extra time to play their shots.
depends on format i agree they are best strikers of ball but there are better batsmen who have nt done as well in ipl but wil do much better than them in longer formats

Karun already scored 3 consecutive 100s this year in Ranji QF, SF and Final. Samson is a wk/bat and he should be working on both aspects of his game thinking like that and not just as a specialist batsman.

I do agree that Samson has to improve on his wicket keeping as well if indeed he will be given the role of a wicket keeper. He is very much a work in progress in both batting and wicket keeping skills. Karun to me looks good in at least one skill i.e. batting. Just keeping more for Kerala won't help Samson much unless he sorts out the technical weaknesses in his keeping skills. similarly with his batting. He needs to get basics right , playing more cricket won't solve it as we see with many international players.

Keeping for Kerala will certainly help but problem is they play him as specialist batsman and they don't make him keep.

I wont consider Chahal a find until he proves it in domestic cricket too. IPL alone' date=' no.[/quote'] Maybe he should be sent on a tours It's kind of hard for spinner to make impact on green track against some very good players of spin

I am aware that in 2012 season he kept in very few matches for Kerala. However, i guess he might have kept for more matches in 2013 season. Lets wait and waitch if he keeps for all ranji matches next season.

Nair has been the best young batsman for me, Vohra has also been good. Samson has D Karthik's disease of looking in great touch, playing 3 or 4 really good shots and going for one too many and getting out. Nice batsman to watch though.

S. Samson is the real deal. Not sure which of the two formats he should be making a debut in. He does seem to have the temperament for tests. One question is how will he handle international bowling on seaming/bouncy conditions.
