I don't think so. Dhoni will most probably pick Shami, Ishant and Pandey. I am just stating what I think would be Dhoni's choice.

Pankaj Singh has wicket taking ability, good pace, height, bounce, swing and seaming ability. Can be a good pick for the first test.

It does not matter what kind of bowling attack you have if your batting keeps shamefully collapsing like they did in 2011 you will not win any matches.

So, he was overused and played every game in every format continuously. As a result, looked a bit out of steam in the later parts of the series he played.

we need to admit, no matter how good a batting is if bowlers are bowling well and there is help for them, most batsmen will struggle at most times. It is that difference of quality in,bowling of two sides that make people look that one team's batting was poor, but if same England bowling in that form had bowled to English batsmen, they would have struggled too. I never saw all England pace bowlers bowl like that before or after. The Broad who is now struggling to hit 85 was hitting 90 mph then, same for Tim Bresnan and exgerated movement, they proved difficult. We talk about PK swinging at 75-80 mph, they were swinging big at 85-90 mph.

I totally agree the last 4 tests batting has been fine and it was bowlers who let the team down.

They have to go in with a solid game plan. You cannot try to buy wickets with defensive field set. England is the last team you try this tactic. They are patient. More proactive approach is needed. Pakistan smashed them with attacking spin, So did Australia. SA also smashed them to pulp. India's traditional way of winning in England is by batting England out. Last time there was no such chance as we failed to cross 300 8 innings in a row. So bowling has to compensate that area which is a huge ask. But they have to be up for it.

Skills standpoint bk is a shade better than Pankaj. .. I guess Dhoni will go with varun shammi I shan't and a spinner.

Shammi does not reduce his pace even in his 6th over so for me he has stamina.... I shan't reduces his pace... Varun bowled around 145 in iPl I hv high hope
